    Lester Spiffany was the son of the owner of one of Earth's finest jewelry establishments. Lester attempted to join the Legion of Super-Heroes, although he was without any super powers. He tried to buy his way into the Legion using a Dazzle Gem from the planet Xandu as a gift. When he was told no, he offered to buy them a new headquarters.

    Cosmic Boy rejected him, and Lester left angrily, calling them all stupid.

    In the Five Years Later run he was noted to be the largest minority shareholder of Brande Industries, owned primarily by RJ Brande and later Reep Daggle.
