Origin
Very little is known about Lauren Marcus. Probably originally from New York City, she met Larry Marcus at some point in her life, and later married him. They had one daughter together, Carla Marcus.
Creation
Lauren Marcus was created by Grant Morrison and Cameron Stewart. She made her first appearance in Seven Soldiers: Guardian #1.
Major Story Arcs
Seven Soldiers of Victory
Lauren worries over the faltering relationship of her daughter and Jake Jordan, and supports Jake's decision to take the job as the Manhattan Guardian. Her husband dies in a subway pirate attack shortly thereafter, which devastates her. Despite this, she objects to her daughter's decision to leave Jake, and continues to try to coax her to take him back even during the Sheeda invasion. She and Carla attempt to escape the city, but nearly crash into Zatanna. They are rescued by Jake, and Lauren survives the invasion.
