@GodDamnIronMan: Umm, I don't see how it would effect the roster overall, so yea I don't mind. However, some people on this forum might think otherwise as everyone else has just consisted their rosters with DC Characters.
I would have made the Justice League more akin to a highly organized super-human militia with a clear structure and hierarchy.
All members of the League would be said to belong to “The Pantheon.” This Pantheon would be broken into 12 divisions, with each division head belonging acting as the commanding field officers and general council, known as “The Olympians.” Of these Twelve, three are members of the executive council, known as “The Trinity.” The breakdown is as follows:
Superman – Head of the Metropolis Marvels, including Superboy and Supergirl
Batman – Head of the Gotham Knights, including Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Huntress
Wonder Woman – Head of the Amazon Sisters, including Donna (of) Troy and Wonder Girl
Green Lantern – Head of the Emerald Warriors, including Guy Garner, Kyle Rayner, and Simon Baz
The Flash – Head of the Scarlet Speedsters, including Kid Flash (Wally West) and Impulse (Bart Allen)
Aquaman – Head of the New Others, including Mera, Aqualad (Jackson Hyde), the Operative, Prisoner of War, and Ya’wara
Martian Manhunter – Head of the Justice League Task Force, including Animal Man, Blue Beatle (Ted Kord), Booster Gold, and Captain Atom

Altogether there are 52 members of the Justice League
Among the twelve Olympians their order here represents their rank with respect to one another, especially while in the field or in active battle. Superman serves as the Chairman, Batman the Vice Chairman, and Wonder Woman as the Secretary.
Outside of the Justice League are entirely separate organizations such as the Superman Squad, Batman, Inc., and the Legion of Superheroes.

As cool as that sound (which it really does), a fan fiction which gave sufficient panel time to that many characters would be a massive undertaking. As it is, I've already got three works which intended for publication in the pipeline.
An anthology of fairy-tails. Two are already complete (TheBeast and Beauty, a retelling ofBeauty and the Beastfrom the Beast's perspective, andAdonaïs and the Dragon, essentially the Gospel as a fairy-tale) and a third is well underway.
An interlinear children's Bible entitled Glossolalia with full illustrations accompanied by verses in English, Latin, and Greek (I minored in Ancient Languages in undergrad, and want to raise my son as a polyglot).
The story is the Centre from New Fontier. It attacks the Earth the League forms to stop it. However there have been a prequel series just with the trinity meeting for the first time a month before the attack. They have to fight Ra's, Circe, and Lex.

Also a covert ops team made up of Black Canary, Hitman, Black Alice,Vigilante and Green Arrow.
The only thing I'd change is I'd make Supes cut his hippy hair. Wally is more powerful and interesting than Barry. Kyle is more likable and creative than Hal. And I my prefer Aquaman when he's rocking the beard. Much more badass.
Oh yeah, and Morrison's Batman was basically Bat-God 2.0, so he actually fit in with the team. Unlike the useless sack of flesh that Johns is writing right now, who over the course of 15 issues has done nothing but get saved by team mates while talking their ears off with his "orders."
I have always like to keep my "Justice League" limited to 5-7 primary members and a ton of secondary members. I like that "secondary" members can number in the Hundreds. But when it comes to my core....
Nice roster..I think with Mera and Wonder Woman on the JLA, it would be complete classic; Both powerhouse warriors and both confused and nonchalant with the outside (surface) world. It would be great to see them in action while on Earth, especially with Aquaman and Cyborg roaming around underwater and above at the watchtower (now that Cyborg has no lungs and is capable of breathing underwater due to S.T.A.R. Labs experimental technology).
I'd do something along the vein of Hickman's Avengers. Where there are three different teams, each led by a different lieutenant. Each team has everything you need (magic, cosmic, gadgeteer, tank, flyer, force-fielder, mentalist, ranged), enabling each team to be interchangeable and capable of dealing with different situations. Basically a large, multi-purpose first line of defense Justice League. Here's how mine would look like:
Batman (Team One Leader/Gadgeteer/Tactician/Stealth)
Mr. Terrific (Team One Lieutenant/Gadgeteer/Force-fielder/Ranged/Stealth/Tactician)
Superman (Tank/Flyer/Ranged/Cosmic)

@ckuakini: Thanks! I had thoughts about including hawkgirl and martian manhunter but didnt. Hawkgirl is a bit like wonder woman. They both fly and use weapons and warrior-like if you know what i mean. As for Martian Manhunter, I like him but he's too similar to superman IMO and I dont want too many members but I have mixed feelings about including the martian. Besides I also have a dream cosmic team for DC consisting of Martian manhunter, captain atom, blue beetle, kyle rayner, orion and some magic user.

Pretty much the best crew of writers and artists a book can ever ask for. If they all collaborated to create such a thing, that would be the greatest Justice League book of all-time.
This would be a damn dream come true :'( i would add more people in the Expanded Team (some of my personal favorites) but this is just perfect.
For leaders, i kind of like it how it generally revolves around the Trinity and in a certain degree, to John. These heroes look up to these three so mightily that they just gravitate towards them. I like how Supes is generally the main leader but Bats is the field tactical and intellectual leader with Diana being the "actions speak louder than words" leader. And with John being the silent leader.
I'll divide it like the Jim Lee X-Men of the 90's.
JL Blue - Hal Jordan, Wally West / Barry Allen, GA, Canary, Cyborg (tech and power), and Red Tornado.
JL Gold - Aquaman , Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Fate (has intervened! sorry, couldn't help it), Green Lantern Jon Stewart, and Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) (tech and experience).
I really think having two Lanters isn't far fetched. They're there, so use 'em! and it's the JUSTICE LEAGUE. Powerhouses should be there ALL THE TIME. At least there's two power rings to go by if one of 'em runs out of juice. So we have at least 4 members (mainly the ones without "powers") Batman, Batgirl, GA, Canary with no real powers (except again for Canary), a speedster, a 100-tonner in Arthur, a powerful mystic, etc.
Well-balanced, methinks :) (imo, Nightwing is just too good to be "under" any type of leadership even if it is from the big 3. he deserves to have his own team hence my exclusion of him and putting in Barbara instead.)
Right now, and this changes from time to time, id like to read about the current line-up (Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Green Lantern, Flash, and Aquaman) MINUS Batman, add Martian Manhunter. Id be pretty happy reading that.
My Ideal Justice League would consist of 15 members, but would rotate 5-7 characters around for each arc as well as have a back up that focuses on 1 or 2 characters that do not have their own book.
