not based on their roles in the team, or their solo series... just the characters themselves.

This list and why they are at the number they are at

1. Superman (need we say more? He is the very thing Justice League was, is and hopefully will be. He is what it stands for simplified)

2. Batman (He is the central system of the League, keeping the web of balances,everyone in order and on the prime objective)

3. Wonder Woman ( Not only the emissary of the League, but its guiding light of peace and justice. If Superman is the heart and Batman the brain than Wonder Woman the soul)

4. The Flash ( The purest man on the team. His charisma and energetic qualities always keep the team from falling to despair)

5. Green Lantern : Hal Jordan (The weight of the Guardians on his shoulders. He's a regular guy with a great sense of duty and universal callings)

6. Aquaman ( Even though he can be prideful, Arthur has a good sense of right and wrong. He knows when to celebrate and when to work with the other League members)

7. Cyborg (I honestly see no reason for him on the team other than to be that "tech guy". Batman is already well suited for technological dealings and Green Lantern can quickly scan and assimilate if necessary and if they arent prepared its more interesting to see how they will adapt and/or use the unknown tech)

Why do people not like Hal? He is really an interesting character.

There's been little to no characterization of these characters in this book.

Aquaman is 1 for showing some spunk and ability.

Wonder Woman is simultaneously a fierce warrior princess and a starry-eyed explorer from another world.

Batman, though some of his actions don't make sense, is the man with a plan.

These aren't my favourite DC super heroes in order but based on my view on Johns' writing of their characters:

Judging purely on the new 52

• Aquaman - has some great development and stories so far. And i've always been an Aquaman fan.
• Cyborg - I know it's populair to hate on the guy, but he's growing on me.
• Batman - regular Bats pretty much, although there's way too much focus on him.
• Wonder Woman - meh
• Barry Allen - meh, was never interested in him, new 52 hasn't changed that. (go Wally!)
• Superman - new 52 Superman just isn't superman to me, just a random Kryptonian but not Superman.
• Hal Jordan - arrogant douchebag.

Geoff doesn't know how to write Batman. He is the last person i would ever choose to write Batman.

I admit Johns isn't the best Batman writer and perhaps Aquaman is done better than Batman, at least Johns isn't mucking Aquaman up. But I haven't seen from Johns the kind of writing for characters like Superman as he wrote them pre New 52 which is why I've put them lower on the list.

@Lvenger: Batman is just there because of popularity. If John had full authority he would have kicked Batman long ago from Justice league.

@RyuHayabusa: I do find both of those statements hard to believe. Well 2 less so because there have been several instances when Johns has mucked up Batman's character. But Johns has never shown any dislike towards Batman as far as I know. I mean I know he likes the Justice Society, Hal Jordan and Barry Allen but there's never been anything to show that he doesn't like Batman. And if that were truly the case, DC wouldn't have given the position of writer of Batman: Earth One to someone who dislikes Batman.

@Lvenger: Batman hasn't done anything in Justice League except rescuing Superman and revealing his identity to Hal. Sadly Geoff John is one of the best selling writers that is why he is going to write Batman. I can't imagine how much he is going to low-ball Batman in future.

Can't say I'm a fan of how Geoff John's writes any of these characters. My list with no John's influence is 1Batman 2Superman 3 Wonder Woman 4Da Flash 5Cyborg 6Hal Jordan

Sadly, I haven't read anything from DC since the last reboot yet. Back in the days, the Martian Man Hunter was really my favorite.

I tend to agree with that from one end to the other. May I add that he also has an extremely over inflated ego? Or that he might be the earth GL using his ring with the less imagination?

@RyuHayabusa: That just shows that he doesn't know how to write Batman, not that he doesn't like him. I've loved his work in other areas such as Green Lantern and Superman but even the best writers have their flaws. Not much has been revealed about Batman: Earth One so I guess the only way to know whether it will be good or not is to wait and see. Though I didn't care for Superman: Earth One much. Kind of ironic really because JMS said that he really liked Superman when he got the job writing Superman: Earth One as well as Superman yet couldn't write either of those particularly well.
