So we all know that there are going to be 52 covers for the new JLA.

My question is in 10 years which one will be the hardest one to get your hands on?

My vote is for Rhode Island.

What do you guys think?

i hear they are doing a dc one and one for puerto rico (since it belongs to the US) so my guess will be one of those two, then rhode island :P

Alaska. I feel like there are gonna be unopened boxes of them in a warehouse, somewhere.

Guam, US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Wake Island, Midway Island just a handful of the territories DC ignored.

And maybe Hawaii as well, simply due to shipping costs.

@Icarusflies: That's what I figure. Unless you're a huge collector, you're really just going to want the state that you live in, or identify with most. Which ones have small populations, have distance problems and have small numbers of comic fans? Those are gonna be the low printing ones. Those are gonna be the rare ones.

I think you all have it backwards, the less populated states will not sell out.  Definitely Cali or NY

That does make some sense.

We all know that in 10 years that they will be one that goes on ebay for big cash. You may be on to something here with the larger state selling out.

What issue are we talking bout? Which issues? Is it just the next 52 issues or what?

The new Justice League of America will have 52 variant covers.

I guess it would depend of the state with less comic demand

the DC one will probably be the most common

Yeah I thought the same thing about the DC one.

After some thought I am thinking that South Dakota will be the trick

There are some dealers online selling the entire set as a pre-order... Ridiculous.

Why would anyone want that?

I can understand someone trying to look a comic with a cooler cover but to get them all is ridiculous

I just dont understand the speculator mentality

Personally I wouldn't buy them all either. It just seems like a huge waste of money. (Sorry I couldn't quote your previous post. My work PC has a older browser)

I disagree, assuming my logic is true, the more populated the state is the more copies of that particular state's variant cover that DC will print. I believe a good portion of comic book fans make an effort to preserve their comics so most likely alot of the comics for that particular state will still be here in 10 years. And the fact that so many of those comics were printed just increases the likelihood that the comic will be easier to find. NY and CA are two of the most populated states in the Union and they are two of the most iconic states as well meaning that most likely these covers will be popular both inside and outside of those particular states as well. They won't be rare. And it doesn't matter whether or not they sell out. The comic doesn't disappear just because someone buys it. it just goes out of circulation for awhile. Eventually people who purchased the book will try to resell it so you will find them in circulation on eBay. That's true even if it does sell out. And if they don't sell out you will find them through comic book stores online and offline.

The more populated the state is, the more copies of the variant cover for that state, meaning the more likely you'll find that variant cover in 10 years.Based on that the Wyoming variant cover will be the hardest cover to find in 10 years because Wyoming is the least populated state in the country and I don't think it's a very popular state either. Since there will be 52 covers I assume they will make cover for Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico actually has a pretty good population so unless comics aren't popular in PR, there should be a good number of those printed as well. And Washington DC has the second lowest population, but because it's the US capital I assume that this variant cover will be pretty popular meaning they may print alot of Washington DC covers. I also think Alaska might be hard to find in 10 years because it's a low populate state and i assume the weather conditions make it hard to adequately protect you comic books. .

@xybernauts: Yes you might be right, I made my guess based on the fact that they were creating an equal number per state, and if they are then I stand by my guess.  However, if they do alter the number based on population then you will probably be right.
