During the Golden Age, it was common for writers to not use their real name in case the author moved on to other media. Thus, Greene wrote under many pseudonyms, including Joe Green, Joseph Lawrence, Joseph Verdy, Larry Verdi and Lawrence Vert.
While he is most famous for Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, he also contributed to many of DC Comics' signature works during the early 1940s, including Action Comics, Detective Comics, All-American Comics and Green Lantern.
