John Marston was first seen in My Greatest Adventure #1 - My Cargo Was Death. He appeared in the short story titled I Hunted a Flying Saucer!

John Marston was created by Will Ely.
Character Evolution
Marston originally was an average man who had come across a flying saucer. Unfortunately Marston's mental state began to deteriorate when those around him didn't believe his claims about his findings, thus resulting in an overall mental breakdown.
Major Story Arcs
I Hunted a Flying Saucer
John Marston was flying a plane late at night when he observed a bright object fly past his plane; clipping it's wing slightly, thus causing Marston's plane to spiral downwards resulting in a crashed landing, thankfully Marston survived.
With new-found knowledge of a strange U.F.O. Marston went to the Civil Air Patrol Officials to report his observations; however, the two officers that met with Marston didn't believe him and thought him to be a loon. Marston eventually met with a man named Mr. Dennings who was a member of the Air Force who is assigned to a project known as "Blue Sky" in which he must locate any and all clues related to U.F.O.s.
Marston ventured out on Mr. Denning's orders to locate the U.F.O. He found the object which was revealed to be an alien ship from outer space. Marston took a picture of the ship which caused the aliens to lose their trust in him. Marston brought the picture and a piece of metal he found at the scene back to Mr. Dennings; however, the photo turned up blank and the metal had been transformed to dust.
When Marston brought Mr. Dennings to the location of the alien ship the area appeared untouched, even though there was a crater there when Marston found the ship. As a last resort Marston was hooked up to a lie detector and asked if he saw a flying saucer, to which he responded yes. Unfortunately for Marston the lie detector claimed he was lying and Marston was sent away by Mr. Dennings.
Due to the toll this event took on Marston's mind he ended up flying his plane high into the sky and was never seen again.
Powers & Abilities
Marston had no superpowers; however, he had the ability to pilot an airplane.
