From The Long Box : JLA #41

Mageddon is finally knocking on Earths door, and his first order of business is to take out Green Lantern. Who quickly finds himself with no charge in his ring. When Kyle returns to earth. He puts himself in a battle of Wills with mageddon for control of the ring.

Mageddons presence near Earth is making nations war, and the heroes are trying to stem the tides of rage washing over the planet. Animal Man comes up with a plan to break Mageddons hold on the planet, and to even rush the evolutionary process to give the population of Earth temporary super powers.

This issue really has a lot going on. Unfortunately ... I don't like it. C'mon the entire world gets super powers, and they all just have exactly what they need to stop Mageddon? I just didn't buy it. Not to mention the end of a seventies comedy tv show ending with everyone running toward ... something. It isn't all bad. The bit with green Lantern was cool, but over all the ending seems like it was thought up on the fly. A poor ending to a decent story.
