C2E2 2010: Jim Lee
Woah. Babs gets all the cool interviews :P
I love Jim. He's such a cool guy and such a great artist. I'm really happy DC tied him for many years to the company with his new position.
And I'm really excited for a DCU online reader. I think it would be a great move to allow people to browse older issues and classic stories (AC#1, 'Tec#27, etc.) free of charge. I still like paper more than pixels, but, come on, it would be stupid not to take advantage of such a promising medium.
The digital medium has with out a doubt made me a fan of a lot of new books. I wouldn't use it to read new books, I like purchasing the new printed books, but in the sense of checking out back issues or titles I wouldn't bought before because I just couldn't afford to pick up a book I wasn't completely sure off. Nothing worse then picking up a book that sucks and feeling like I could have used the cash on another risk. The digital format helps with that. I also don't want to step on the comic book shops toes and take away from them or the experience of walking into a comic store. So pysched to hear he's gonna finish Allstat BM and Robin. That book ended up being all sorts of crazy good.
Jim is nowhere near short on vitality. We're going to see that guy as strideful and productive as ever when he's
old and gray.
funny to see the camera shy people in the background. the ones that see the camera, gulp, then try and
make it look like they weren't peeking over. lmao.
I would hope that digital distribution would bring the price per issue down. I doubt that it will though.
Great Interview Babs. I got up early to see this, JIm Lee is awesome, I can't wait to see what he does with digital media and his Ipad work is really awesome, I saw a Joker he did during C2e2 on twitter the man is awesome.
"@Final Arrow Is that avatar from All-Star JSA? A lot of focus on Johnny Sorrow?"
Yep, Johnny Sorrow is a great Character and the JSA is one of the best teams out there.
Because in my bio-character I was going to have a big thing with Johnny. I red a while ago the issues where he battles Spectre, I can't remember much of it though. But I know I enjoyed it.
Great interview Babs thank you for bringing the man to CV!!!
wait, did he say he had not finger painted for 40 years? O_o he does not look a day over 30!
