Alright, you got me. Now I want more. 0

When I heard about the concept of this book I thought it sounded pretty cool. I typically enjoy Chris Roberson’s stuff and like most nerds I’m a big fan of the Allreds, so I figured what the heck.I’m glad I did give it a shot. It’s a typical introductory issue so you get what you’d expect:  you get a quick glance at all of the players that will be turning up, it gives you a taste of what to expect out of the story, and you get a little picture of the world that the characters live in. In the cas...

    Totally worth your DOLLAR 0

I ZombieThis was a great book. It is worth your $1. Vertigo was smart to release something new and strange like that. I wish all first issues were a dollar, but even more I wish that all first issues did as good of a job selling the book to me.I wasn’t a hard sell though. I love Mike Allred. I love the simplicity of his art, and actually like that the main character kind of reminds me of Dead Girl from X-Statix. Promising Start to What Could Be an Excellent Series 0

I picked this up because Comicvine's very own G-Man has often sung the praises of Michael Allred. I decided to take a gamble on this dollar book and had relatively high expectations do to the fact that it's a Vertigo title, and in my opinion, they're yet to put out anything bad that I'm aware of. I was pleasantly surprised to find that instead of a horror comic, Allred and Chris Roberson present the readers with an offbeat unpredictable tale that in its debut issue is hazey, but promising. It re...

I guess we know what Gwen Dylan is ordering from the menu. 0

Here is the first issue of I Zombie. Gwen Dylan is a grave digger in a town that has two names. Emerald City or Track City. Gwen is half girl half zombie. At the beginning when the working day is done, Gwen goes to her hide out at the cemetery where her friend Ellie is waiting. Ellie is a ghost and likes to live. Gwen and Ellie decide to go to their usual hang-out spot called Dixie's. During a late night paintball game, a vampire decides to feed off one of the guys. Gwen and Ellie go to Dixies w...

The new kid on the block 1

We first met Gwen Dylan in the House of Mystery Halloween Annual.  This time she has the full 22 pages for her story and at a $1 you have to try this out.  Darwyn Cooke cover or Mike Allred, both covers are wonderful.  I won't bother with the pros and cons, its the freaking 1st issue.  Go Buy it and then tell me thank you it was a dollar well spent.    The art rocks!  The story doesn't leave with the hooks in you, but it does give you the major set up for the book.    And I don't know if you kno...
