Did you catch the TV spot for Iron Man 3?

Seems kind of an odd choice for a commercial during the big game.

The Facebook thing was funny but I would have liked a longer trailer

i like how much they are keeping under wraps. Far too often we know the first hour of the movie months before it comes out.

and the facebook "extensive" trailer was funny. a little more excited than i was before.

I thought it was pretty underwhelming. Am I alone there? CERTAINLY didn't live up to The Avengers' last year. I have no need or reason to watch it again, for sure.

It was ESPECIALLY brief and practically useless on TV.

I wonder if the whole passengers sky falling is gonna be a "gotta choose who to save" kinda moment

I was thinking it might be one of those villain plans like, get Iron-man to tap out all his power saving those passengers and then take him out things.

I don't know, but it looks cool. It also confirms its the MK42 armor.

TV Spot was pathetic. FOr a normal commercial it might work, but Superbowl people are expecting something big. Very disappointing, showed a really generic kind of scene too, told us nothing about the plot.

Eh, not that amazing to me really. Let down.

Iron man can only carry 4 people, yet has enough power to shift the trajectory of a nuclear missile?

I enjoyed it showed enough to get me excited but not enough that I already know the whole movie before I see it.

You are spot on. What the heck do people want? Good grief, I'd rather see this brief trailer than a long ass one that spoils every damn bit of the movie!

I think it's because the armor is damaged in the 1st place. when he flies out from the plane...there are many scratches on the armor...maybe the armor has low power level at that time.

RDJ is the only man I would allow to give me a back rub so yea I kind of do want that.

This looks freaking amazing.

It generated a bit of cool footage and didn't reveal too much, like a trailer SHOULD.

You're all far, far too reliant on getting extended clips, multiple clips, 2 minute long trailers. About five each of those. You've got Marvel uploading clip after clip of these films on YouTube. It kind of makes me sick.

I KNOW I'm going to see Iron Man 3. I did not go see Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Cap and The Avengers just so say..."Hmm, Marvel need to sell me on this Iron Man 3." If you KNOW you're gonna see it, why spoil yourself with all these revealing clips and trailers? It's so dumb.

I hope Mandarin will be cool but I don't think he will have powers.

Why would you expect IM3 trailers to live up to Avengers? A bit unfair don't you think? This is Phase 2, building the story and the hype towards Avengers 2 begins here.

I have a feeling they Marvel doesn't want to make the mistakes they made with IM2. Put all the ads/trailers together and we saw the majority of all the major fight scenes, especially the final battle.

Why didn't they just play the whole add on T.V? Especially aver that asinine teaser trailer for the "Superbowl" add.

@DMC: I just wanted to be a tad bit longer to see if it would get my wife interested enough to go see it with me without making me pay for it by sitting through whatever god awful romantic comedy she'll want to see around the same time this comes out.

I liked what I saw. Especially on the plane where Iron Man is trying to save all people. I have a feeling I'll going to like this scene!

Can't imagine that trailer (the 30 second TV one) won over anyone who maybe didn't like Iron Man 2. And I'm not talking about US, who follow these things religiously, but the random schmoes who watch the Superbowl. You know, the whole reason Marvel wanted a Superbowl ad to begin with? Just thought it was a missed opportunity is all. I'm not asking for a 3 minute, heavy-on-unseen-footage trailer. Just make it better or even as good as the first IM3 trailer we got, which wasn't in front of every eye in America.

Since Tony bled so much between "how much can I carry" and "oh, boy..." I'm thinking that there's a whole hell of a lot that we're not seeing here, which is refreshing considering Marvel usually releases 70% of the movie via trailer

Oh, bull. We had no idea what was happening in the Avengers for the longest time. We didn't even know who the villain army was! The biggest offender last Summer was Amazing Spider-Man, nothing Marvel had any control over.

@r3d_rob1n: I don't think it's a weight issue, it's probably how many he can hold at once: probably one for each hand and two grasping him.

I love this freaken spot! The scene where Iron Man is faced with the seeminly impossible feat of trying to save those sucked out of the plane has to be the most intense, realistic looking action scene I've ever seen...and it's just a few seconds of footage! You would swear this is 100% real. The look of horror on that womans face who he's holding, and the wind buffeting her, and the camera angles as you see the plane blowing up...pure magic! I was racking my brain trying to imagine how thats gonna play out. Looks like the best Iron Man movie, if not the best Super hero movie, yet!
