Iron Man 3 armor revealed
It wouldn't be bad at all if the gold was like the shiny metallic gold in the first two movies. As it stands it looks like pale split pea soup and the matte finish is bleh.

I dig it.
its differents but i'll have to see how it work in action to truly judge the suit.
The back is certainly better but not buy much@BlackArmor: The back of the armor looks like bleeding edge...
Guys - don't worry, in every film Stark has at least 2 new armor pieces - Avengers 2 will absolutely have a new armor piece. I heard that in a footage shown at comic con, Stark was trying to get multiple parts of his armor on by command (like extremis) and then one of the pieces lands on his crotch with an unfortunate thud :/
It may look better on the big screen, so far all the rest have looked much better in action than when they showed off production stills
I doubt it'll be the only armor he wears in the movie, he hasn't had less than 2 in any of the movies he's appeared in also hoping some Hulkbuster armor pops up at some point
I am curious as to why they went with more gold with this suit, but I actually like it. The reversed color scheme separates it from the previous armors as, except for the first two and the Suitcase Armor, Tony's suits have virtually looked the same minus a few changes to different parts, but overall they've looked pretty much the same with the same red and gold design. This suit swaps it up this go around.
I'm actually hoping they'll just have this armor as the main focus. One of the things I think was a great part in the first Iron Man movie and was something I missed in the second one was seeing Tony in his workshop designing and testing new suits. We did see him in his workshop, but the only time he was actually doing anything was when he was re-discovering the element his father discovered. In the first one, seeing him testing the suit out and see him work out the errors were something I think made the movie more interesting as we got to see how the armor works.I doubt it'll be the only armor he wears in the movie, he hasn't had less than 2 in any of the movies he's appeared in also hoping some Hulkbuster armor pops up at some point
So I'd personally like to see this movie focus more on this one armor, seeing Tony design it as if this is the movie version of the Bleeding Edge armor, it shouldn't be something he just invents like it was no big deal; I mean making a suit of armor is one thing, but now trying to figure out a way to store said armor into a persons body and still get it to function the right way...yeah, that should be more heavily focused on.
As for the Hulkbuster, personally I'd like to see Tony use that in Avengers 2 against Thanos. As Hulk is an ally, Tony wouldn't need to use it on him, but I could see him designing a suit based on the Hulk encase he did have to use it, but instead has to use it on Thanos.
@War Killer: Even if it isn't Tony using it I'd like to see Hulk vs Hulk buster. Maybe one of Hulk's enemies steals a Stark design then the fact that Tony designed it could be a source of tension in Avengers 2 when Tony uses it against Thanos
I really don't see anyone being able to steal one of Tony's armors, but I think it would be a pretty awesome scene to have the Avengers fighting Thanos and getting their butts beat and then Tony pulls this out of his armory and joins the fight.@War Killer: Even if it isn't Tony using it I'd like to see Hulk vs Hulk buster. Maybe one of Hulk's enemies steals a Stark design then the fact that Tony designed it could be a source of tension in Avengers 2 when Tony uses it against Thanos
@War Killer: The Leader could be smart enough to hack into Stark files, and Ross probably has the resources to get it done.
@War Killer: There are multiple occasions in the comics where various people have managed to get their hands on Stark tech, that was the entire plot of Armor Wars.
I'm not saying it can't happen, I just don't think that if there's any possible chance of seeing the Hulkbuster armor any time soon, it won't be like that.@War Killer: There are multiple occasions in the comics where various people have managed to get their hands on Stark tech, that was the entire plot of Armor Wars.
@War Killer: Just saying if it did happen there would be precedents for it. Also Hulk was an on again off again ally of Tony when he invented the Hulkbuster suit in the first place.
True, but I don't think Marvel plans on making the Hulk a villain anytime soon in the movieverse. I mean he's only now just established myself as a "hero" to the public, so it wouldn't make sense to have him do a one-eighty. I can see Tony having built the suit encase the Hulk did turn, but actually seeing him use the armor on the Hulk I feel is unlikely.@War Killer: Just saying if it did happen there would be precedents for it. Also Hulk was an on again off again ally of Tony when he invented the Hulkbuster suit in the first place.
@War Killer: He could easily be made to look like a villain in a future movie, plus even in the film universe he's known as an unpredictable figure so Tony would be smart to build one just in case and Hulk being who he is wouldn't take kindly to it if he found out so there is the possibility they could have a falling out in the next Avengers movie
Guys, this is the main armor of the movie - yeah he's probably gonna have other new armor, but they showed this at Comic Con for the exact purpose of it being the main armor. In the footage shown, his house is blown to bits so he has to start from scratch - there are also parts where it shows Tony on a operating table... Just like extremis - and, a scene was shown where he was trying to get his armor on in multiple pieces flying around the room - Just like Extremis! This is the Extremis armor guys, we'll all have to deal with it until Avengers 2...
I agree that is a possibility, I was actually wondering if maybe Thanos wouldn't use the Infinity Gauntlet to turn Hulk against the team or something, though I'm not exactly sure on the full extent of the gauntlet's abilities. But it was an idea.@War Killer: He could easily be made to look like a villain in a future movie, plus even in the film universe he's known as an unpredictable figure so Tony would be smart to build one just in case and Hulk being who he is wouldn't take kindly to it if he found out so there is the possibility they could have a falling out in the next Avengers movie
But it should also be considered that Hulk is the team's strongest powerhouse, with Thor coming in right behind him. So until they get another powerhouse to replace him, I don't think they'd have him leave the team. But that wouldn't be hard to do really.
@War Killer: The gauntlet pretty much gives its wearer damn near unlimited powers with it Thanos destroyed half of all life in the universe with a thought and once it was removed all those lives were restored with the gauntlet's power as well. Not to mention Thanos is a fairly powerful telepath without it would mean brain washing the Hulk could easily be in the realm of possibilities.
I could see that happening to Hulk, where Thanos has him turn on the rest of the team or maybe even has the Hulk rampage to bring the team back together so he can fight them himself.@War Killer: The gauntlet pretty much gives its wearer damn near unlimited powers with it Thanos destroyed half of all life in the universe with a thought and once it was removed all those lives were restored with the gauntlet's power as well.
