    Description

    Written by Jonathan Hickman and art by Jim Cheung, Infinity is a six part event beginning in August 2013. A preview issue was released for Free Comic Book Day 2013.

    The series will center on the Avengers team heading out in to the galaxy to unite the major species of the galaxy the Kree, the Shi'ar, the Skrulls as well as many other species uniting them against the Builders. The Avengers will encounter the Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova (Sam Alexander) in space. While the Avengers are in space Thanos is going to be mucking about with Earth and the remaining heroes will be left to defend it.

    On a distant planet a so called [Outriders|Outrider], a genetically produced assassin, returns to his master bearing a message about a planet known as Ahl-Agullo; another as yet unnamed alien asks someone if this pleases him, to which the shadowy figure says yes; the outrider then goes out to complete his mission. The alien, Corvus Glaive, appears on Ahl-Agullo demanding tribute of its king and mockingly displays the blade of its greatest warrior, the prince, revealing to the king he is dead. Corvus mentions that the last time his master came to this world it was burnt down;the king, convinced, gives him a tribute, and Corvus brings it to his master, Thanos, who is quite pleased with it.

    The Outrider arrives on Earth and starts its search at Avengers Tower, The Jean Gray School For Higher Learning and the S.H.E.I.L.D Helicarrier.

    Prelude to Infinity

    Part One: The Signal (The Avengers #14; released in June 2013)

    The Origin Sites - originally created by the Builders to take control over and transform Earth into something else - across the globe suddenly activate and sending out EMP signals (while cutting off the electricity on Earth) across the Marvel Universe every few minutes. What do these signals mean and who do they communicate with? It's up to the Avengers to stop this.

    The Illuminati are preparing to stop an incursion, and destroy a world (all of this is seen in New Avengers, and Black Panther destroys the world, stopping the incursion.

    The Tribute

    The Outrider arrives on earth and starts the search for what is still hidden. The Outrider is seen searching the Jean Gray School for Mutants, The Avengers Headquarters and the S.H.I.E.l.D helicarrier.

    Constructing Apocalypse

    Far away from Earth on the planet Galador it is under attack from the Builders, and the Aleph’s are razing the planet to the ground. People cower in fear in front of them, but they are saved by the Spaceknights who are the heroes of Galador. The Spaceknights begin to fight the Aleph’s and take most of them out, but not before Captain Universe appears, and tells two citizens of Galador that there is no hope even with the Spaceknights. The Builders then destroy the planet disintegrating everyone, and everything on it, including Captain Universe.

    Orbital

    Captain America and Hawkeye are in Palermo hunting down some Skrulls with the assistance of S.W.O.R.D. After a brief fight with the Skrulls after it turns out they’ve disguised themselves as humans, the Skrulls are defeated. Captain Universe turns up on the Peak station unconscious.

    What was hidden, now uncovered

    The Outrider appears in Attilan the home of the Inhumans which is hovering above Manhattan. The Outrider gets into Black bolt’s mind and tries to find something in his mind. The outrider gathers information on the Inhumans, as well as the Illuminati who he finds out have lost the Infinity Gems. Black Bolt then forces the outrider out of his mind, and the Outrider escapes even after some fighting, and several dead Inhumans.

    Ex Nihilo examines Captain Universe, and the Avengers see some footage of a world under the attack from the Builders, and the course of the Builders points them directly at Earth.

    Outbound

    The Avengers ready to fly into space, and fight the Builders, and help fight them with the other worlds in the universe, even though Ex Nihio and Abbys claim they cannot be stopped.

    The Outrider returns to the ruins of Titan, and delivers his message to Corvus Glaive, and Thanos before having his head taken off, which is his purpose in life, to die. The Black Order are assembled including Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Black Dwarf, the Ebony Maw and Supergiant. Thanos says he wants to raid Earth, but people say he is mad, but Corvus Glaive tells Thanos that it has no Avengers, at which point he smiles.
