    Origin

    Ilsa Koenig was a young woman living in Germany at the time that the Nazi's took hold of the country. Altough many of her country men joined the Nazi's, Isla and her brother Eric fought in the German resistance against the Nazi's.

    Creation

    Ilsa Koenig was created by Roy Thomas and Dick Ayers and first appeared in Sgt. Fury issue 35 (1966).

    Major Story Arcs

    Joining the Allies

    While her brother Eric had already left Germany and joined the Allies in the form of the Howling Commandos, Ilsa remained in Germany to help the resistance there. It was however not much later that the Nazi's found out about her involvement and she was soon captured. Thanks to her brother and his team, the Howling Commandos, Ilsa was freed and brought over to England where she continued her work for the Allies. During her time their, she made it clear to fall for one of Eric's teammates, Dino Manelli. This while she also briefly dated Nick Fury.
