Banner's noncompliance change from a intelligent man with reason, into a monster of pure emotion and rage is my preferred Hulk. So Save Hulk gets my vote.
It's a dynamic that goes all the way back to the early days of 1960's Marvel, of a character actually holding resentment and even dislike of what they have become. The Thing shared this with the Savage Hulk, and I guess that's one of the reasons I always found their classic interactions fun to read.
A smart Bruce Banner transforming into a equally intelligent Hulk doesn't do a whole lot for me, and comes across as the character serving the writer, rather than the writer serving the character. It's OK for a gimmick storyline, sure. Long term? Ehh ....
Now a smart Bruce Banner transforming into a "monster" that's child like, filled with overwhelming emotion, and is every bit the embodiment of a wild card is something that comes across as infinitely more interesting to me. The rivalry between Bruce and the Hulk should be a constant, with Bruce always having fear of the monster inside him, and being concerned about the amount of harm and destruction that the Hulk could easily dish out when provoked. To me, it really instills that Frankenstein/Mr. Hyde idea that Stan Lee had in mind when creating the character.
Too much corporation between Banner/Hulk isn't a good thing long term. Atleast not to me. That's just honestly bland.
