The Avengers has yet to open in the U.S. but there's already a lot of buzz based on the overseas box office. The majority of the comments you'll see are extremely positive. One question many may have (and I'm keeping my mouth shut until my review is posted later this week) is where does Hulk stand with the team?

We've seen two recent releases for the Hulk, with Eric Bana and Ed Norton. In The Avengers, Mark Ruffalo is taking his turn at the character. With all the positive feedback so far, it now appears that Hulk may get a shot at a third solo movie.

In an interview with The Huffington Post (via /Film), Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked a couple weeks ago about giving Hulk "another shot" on the big screen.

Well, no. This was the other shot. Right? I mean, this was the third appearance of Hulk and everything that we had and were going for, we put in to Hulk’s appearance in “Avengers.” So, I love that people are saying that and are feeling that way about Hulk, but mission accomplished at this point. And the way we go forward, we’ll see. But it was a long road to get to this point. … But we’ll be very careful about it and deliberate — as we were in how we wanted to bring him back in “Avengers.”
    == TEASER ==

Today in Forbes it seems we may have a different story. Paul Gitter, President of Consumer Products for Marvel said the following:

His sales are up in a major way. We repositioned him from where he was always misunderstood to now depicting him in a more heroic and aspirational manner.
    No Caption Provided

Both comic readers and non-comic readers know who the Hulk is. With the positive comments on Hulk's performance in The Avengers, it's likely that audiences do want more Hulk.

There's been talk of a Hulk TV show on ABC in development. That could cause throw a wrench into the works as audiences might not be willing to take two different versions of Hulk at the same time. Then again, we do have an animated Avengers shows currently airing with a slightly different take on the team.

So the big question is, do people want another Hulk movie? Your answer may change after watching The Avengers. (And if you have watched it, don't bring up any spoilers!!)

Oddly enough, despite Hulks notoriety, his movies never seem to be as popular as other characters.

@cattlebattle: But as Paul Gitter put it, maybe making him a hero could change things enough for audiences.

@G-Man: Possibly, I always like him as anti hero or whatever he is classified as these days, I think the2008 Norton movie conveyed his character extremely well.

Hulk is not just a great avenger, but a great superhero. Give me a sequel to his movie. Keep him on the Avengers...He is a superhero...not a monster to be shot and killed. Heroes live on and he needs too be in a new movie all to himself and the next Avengers Film.

Comic Vine begging nobody to post spoilers. The irony. Try telling the same to your journalists. I've had so much spoiled for me in main page article titles.

There's no way Mark Ruffalo was better than Norton, though I will say he was amazing.

Avengers is going to mightily annoy some fans around here because of the Hulk doings in it.

Sadly I have to say, despite how happy Marvel might be with Mark, I definitely think his is the weakest Banner we've had yet, it might be the point but he never felt like he was playing into the movie, more like...he was just there as himself. (might of course be because he is playing to squash any chance of the green one appearing).

Also...wasn't the Hulk a hero in the other movies? (It was the military who insisted on going after him after all)

Honesty, I'd prefer if marvel spent the time bringing other characters to the big screen. And besides, The Incredible Hulk was the jade guy's best appearance so far. His part in Avengers was... peculiar, but Banner was played a lot better than in previous films. Heheh, "The Other Guy"

I love what Norton did with the character. He looks like Banner but I am willing to give Mark Ruffalo the benefit of the doubt. As long as his Banner/Hulk are better than Bana's I am good. Besides NOBODY is better then Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno duo.

Yes diffently i want a Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo, he was nerdgasmic awesome in Avengers, just as this incarnation of Hulk was great.

Imagine if we in 10 years time have, 3 Captain America movies, 3 Hulk movies, 3 Thor movies, 3 Iron Man movies and 3 Avengers movies... damn son, that would be the bomb right there.

I thought Mark Ruffalo did a great job in the movie, so I'm all for it. Also DC/Warner Bros need to get their asses in motion for a justice league movie, like Avengers has already made all of the money and it hasn't even opened in the states yet.

I wasn't interested in another Hulk film until I saw Mark Ruffalo play the Hulk.

I'll not give any details, but The Hulk was, for me anyway, the character that stood out the most in The Avengers. I'll welcome a third Hulk movie, hopefully with Mark Ruffalo keeping his role.

You won't beat Louis Leterrier's 2008 The Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton, the Hulk looked better then in my opinion, and the film is still amazing. That's all I'm going to say.

Nope, not on any drugs, just telling the truth. In my opinion, Thor is overrated and doesn't necessasrily deserve a sequel, same with Cap. Although to be honest, I'd rather watch a Cap sequel over a Thor sequel b/c I prefer Cap much more as a character. Back on Hulk, I still strongly agree that the green goliath deserves a sequel, he's been very much underrated/unloved by most for awhile but due to the positive reception the character's been getting so far in The Avengers, I'd say it's his time to shine again.

As the Avengers has been out in Australia almost for a week here I can tell you that that this version of the Hulk is the best I have seen on the big screen. Rufulo made a great Banner and the hulk got into some great action.

If it can be translated into a Hulk solo film then I would totally go see it.

Hulk has so many movies, I think other Marvel characters deserve a chance. Same thing with Batman after Rises Batman should get a hiatus so that other DC characters like Wonder Woman get a movie. Based off the Brian Azzarello version would be cool and very welcome in today's box office.

The 2nd movie of the Hulk was awesome, I'd like a third, with the guy that played Bruce in the incredible hulk film, not the avengers movie, but sadly they are probably going to put the guy who's the hulk in the avengers film in the next incredible hulk film.

I will withhold judgment on this question until I see Avengers because, obviously 2003 was a train wreck and 2008 was an improvement but not by much. If Hulk's part is superior in this flick, I will say go for a 2015 release date. And if its not so good, then I say just let the Hulk remain in the medium where he is popular at the least.
