Why does the Hulk have shape-shifter and size manipulation listed as powers?
Hulk
Character » Hulk appears in 7771 issues.
After being bombarded with a massive dose of gamma radiation while saving a young man's life during an experimental bomb testing, Dr. Robert Bruce Banner was transformed into the Incredible Hulk: a green behemoth who is the living personification of rage and pure physical strength.
Hulk
good question I never seen him shapeshift and the only size manipulation is banner to hulk which doesnt count at all
Technically he does have those powers. He's not the Martian Manhunter, but he can become big and green (or grey). When ranking him with those powers you should bare that in mind.
So a transformation from his alter ego to hulk is really size manipulation?
Is he really just shape shifting or is he completly transforming into the hulk
evn hulk regards banner as a different person
Cosmic Sentinel says:
"Technically he does have those powers. He's not the Martian Manhunter, but he can become big and green (or grey). When ranking him with those powers you should bare that in mind."
He doesn't control his changes from green to grey and he also doesn't control his size (that is really dependent upon who draws him). Manipulation is by definition, exerting influence over or taking action to control something and he in no way controls or has direct influence over his size. As far as shape-shifting that is really stretching it! His change from banner to the hulk isn't a shape-shift, the hulk is pretty much another entity unto himself complete.
I would say it counts. I mean turning into the hulk is shapeing his body into a big hulking green monster. And while he is the Hulk he has shown to get bigger as he gets angier. He just doesn't do it as much as someone like Martain Manhunter or Hank Pym.

There is a difference in shifting shape and a tranformation. The Squadron Supreme member Shape shifts his shape, Banner transforms into the hulk! His transformation isn't a shape-shift. You really consider Hulk a shape-shifter c'mon that's pretty ridiculous. As far as his size increasing the angrier he gets the only time I have ever really seen that is in the movie. Nowhere in any right-up of the Hulks powers is it listed that he grows as he gets madder! Have you noticed any size increases in his battles in WWHULK because I surely haven't! To list hulk as a shape-shifter takes away from people who actually have that power (do you consider colossus a shape-shifter, what about she-hulk?). And like I said size manipulation means Manipulating you size, the hulk in no way shape or form controls his size.

Rogue and Cyclops can't control their powers, but they still have them.
And if the hulk is a different entity form banner than that would fit the definition of a shapeshifter, physically changing into something that isn't the persons original self. he just deasn't have variety of what is the accepted power of ashapeshifter.

The difference is in the word MANIPULATION! Cyclops has blast power not blast manipulation and rogue has power absorption not power manipulation. If cyclops could manipulate his blasts then by definition he COULD control them.
Valkaad says:

He is tranforming into a completely different being! He cannot control his size, or his shape! He is either the size and shape of the Hulk or the size and shape of Banner. You are really stretching the definition of shape-shifter. I'll ask again, is colossus a shapeshifter and size manipulator? Is she-hulk? According to you I guess Donald Blake is also a shape-shifter and has size manipulation powers.
I don't really think Hulk has size manipulation or shape manipulation or whatever. There's a massive difference between manipulation and transformation. So perfect example, Wolf-Man is a size and shape manipulator now because of his TRANSFORMATION? If thats the case, it makes no sense, and its stupid. So, I rest my case.
Valkaad says:
"Nobody says:Technically they are. Does it put them at the top of the ranks for it? he is a shapeshifter... but only of limited ability. the question should be "what ranking does hulk have as a shape shifter?" he should be one of the lowest but still within the category

You're serious?? If someone said list some people who have the power of size-manipulation you would think well Bruce Banner, Donald Blake, Jennifer Walters, Billy Batson they all have size-manipulation powers! I cannot believe anyone REALLY thinks that the hulk is a shape-shifter and I find it even harder to believe that ANYONE would think he has size manipulation powers. It is almost laughable.
Valkaad says:

Well come to think of it he technically has those powers. I looked up the term and I

its just the debate of where you draw the line. Yes that means Billy Batson has the power of shapeshifting then too I mean when most people normally think of shapeshifting they think of Morph, Mystique, Super Skrull, etc A lot of the DBZ villians have it but more people consider it on terms with a Transformation. But in a literal sense you are changing shape. Hulk has the ability to change his form back to banner so that means he is technically a shape shifter
