I'm just wondering if the Hulk has ever demonstrated any sort of fighting skill or not. I have a feeling that he doesn't have any fighting ability and is just a brute, but I'm just curious to see if he actually does.

Hulk is more skilled than people gave him credit for. A few months ago(in Incredible Hulk #???), Bruce Banner explained how Hulk doesn't have "accidents". He has rampaged through countless cities, but never kills a single person. Yet, Bruce killed his own father(not as Hulk) by pushing him over just right.

there is a reason he's the savage hulk. just unrestrained anger and brutality. he may not hurt innocent people, but i've never seen any real fighting skills from anyone other than green scar.

There was one time where Hulk reacts like a normal human would towards some people. Unfortunately, I forgot which one it was too. I believe Banner/Hulk both know how to take care of their foes while just regular smashing to rampage mode. Jumping on top of tanks, throws projects back at helicopters is what he's best at!!! I do his catastrophic Thunderclap move!

He demonstrated skill, both with his hands, and a sword. That is how he basically overthrew an entire planetary empire, working his way up through gladiator school and fighting. Planet Hulk shows Hulk basically being a strategic leader, and generally a clever fighter. Certain iterations of Hulk, like Fixit (Grey Hulk) do have a certain amount of skill, while regular "vanilla" savage hulk doesn't have any skill beyond forming a fist.

I think it was Amadeus Cho who said that, saying that it's Bruce's mind being used subconsciously to do all the calculations so as no one get's killed.

EDIT: I just checked, and it was Cho. In Incredible Hulk #110 (pgs 14-15) :-)

    Hulk-Fu :P

But I like how they did it in Incredible Hulk (the movie) where Bruce had learned some fighting skills while in hiding, makes sense because he was running around from the U.S. Army and wasn't relying on becoming the Hulk, but seeing how the Hulk fought at the end of the movie, I'd say those skill go with both the man and the monster. But that is just in the movies, not sure about the comics.

I've only been reading Hulk since the start of the Planet Hulk arc, but from what I've seen, his fighting style seems to be based on Wrestling more than anything. Not sure if that's "skill" though :-)

actually yes he shows more in the Doc Green vs RHulk round 2. and Green Scar also knows how to fight as well. and Savage Hulk knows how to explode the weaknesses of his enemies.

actually he was though Martial Art by Iron Fist and he was skilled enough to go toe to toe with Rulk. He can even concentrate his ki in the punches to hit harder.

The training he got from Iron Fist was just something someone said would be nice on a forum and Duggan filled his awful Hulk run with it since his DocGreen was boring and the sales were very low. It was just filler and like Atheist said, screaming Ki-yah when you hit without actually showing on panel the focused chi is not really a fighting skill. Hulk defeated RHulk before without having to resort to garbage writing.

No. Doc Green recently took a lesson or 2 from Iron Fist though. So he has a very little tiny bit of skill but at least he has some now. Well, Doc Green does anyway. I guess when he goes back to Hulk he wont remember it. Or maybe he will. We'll see.

Not really, he can throw headbutts, maybe put someone in a headlock and someone like doc green is a little better. But overall, no, he doesn't really need fighting skills since he never really fights anyone where they'll make a large difference.

Hulk doesn't have any formal fighting capabilities (well Banner has probably learned a thing or two during his constant travels and confrontations), but what most people forget is that Hulk understands his physique and power very well. If you go over some of his fights, Hulk utilizes his weight, strength, and size tremendously. Hulk can get really creative too with his signature ground pound and thunderclap as well.

This, of course, refers to the regular Savage or Gravage version. Green Scar probably learned some moves in his time in the gladiator ring against monsters and aliens, not to mention that he has also demonstrated that he's a great strategist and tactician. So while Hulk definitely may not have formal martial arts knowledge, he's a very skilled and dangerous fighter.
