    Hawk's A Fighter, Dove's a Heart-Breaker 0

Last issue impressed me and a bit of other people. Does this issue keep up the action between to lesser-known character Hawk and Dove?  THE GOOD: I like the art in some panels. I think that the cover doesn't do the interior act justice which is weird because it's by the same person. Anyway, we get a little more into the personal lives of the characters and we also get a bit more conflict onto the already raging problem. The beginning is different. It's cool to see how this new character is going...

    Filler Time 0

This book is more or less...filler. The first few pages introduce 2 new characters while the rest of the book focuses on what seems to be an aborted story and the set up for the setting of the next issue. Nothing is explained. The plot doesn't move forward. It's not pretty to look at. There is virtually nothing about this comic that is is worthwhile as a read...It does however present the idea of more than the 2 avatars. And that's cool. The bad part about this is that it implies that names for ...

Hawk & Dove: Better, Stronger, Faster 0

Hawk & Dove #2 rocked.Seriously.Let me start by saying that, although I enjoyed the first issue.....#2 burns it. I might go as far as saying that H&D #2 has earned a place in my Top 10 favorite Liefeld comics ever. In my opinion, this is one of those books where everything just came together right. The balance between panels / story-telling stuff and big splashy action is PERFECT. The story is fun. Condor and Swan are bad@ss. The flow and balance of this book is flawless. It's a perfect ...

    It Ain't Pretty But... 0

StoryThe opening is a little confusing as two new characters, Osprey and the soon-to-be Swan are introduced with very little explanation. It does improve from there though, moving at a fairly brisk pace through the story. We're given a little more on the backgrounds of Hawk and Dove, which I'm sure will be helpful for new readers. This is only the second issue and it does feel like it's building both an exciting story and some interesting mythology, even if the issue on it's own is good but not ...

You're wrong Hank. Bowties ARE cool. 0

Last review of Hawk & Dove #2. Also I can't belive I finally got to use that sentence in a review title.  The Story: Condor and Swan kill some other guy who is an avatar in order to get to Hawk & Dove. Also Hawk & Dove attack some other super zombies and get attacked by Condor & Swan.  The Good: As much as Swan is a stupid villain anem she seems like a creepy villain. As much as I don't like Liefelds art he is obviously a huge fan of the comic book medium that he draws the sound ...

    HATRED and Dullness 0

The Good: The black and gray tone for Osprey's costume is pretty boss. Plus, props for making an 'Osprey.' A really under appreciated bird of prey. Am I just saying that because I spent every weekend of every summer for the past 18 years of my life forced to go to a summer house on the Chesapeake Bay and thus know about Ospreys? Probably. The Bad: Is Rob Liefeld's art still horrendous? You bet it is. Dove's hair just looks horrendous. Not to mention the whole lack of a range of facial expression...

After that you can argue 0

This series seems to have gotten itself into its groove almost immediately, just the problem is that the groove is not where it should necessarily be.  The writing here feels predictable and almost formulaic, as though the writer knows what need to be done to make an entertaining issue, and just strings the sequence of these plot devices together.  That having been said this is successfully done, just the problem is that while this might be entertaining it is hard to see this series going to any...
