Hark Ah Lien was the founder of the Night Forest martial arts school in ancient China. Her purpose was to train guardians, "to see that the sun will always come up."
Her students were killed by a man named Lo, who was searching for a secret technique called the Night's Stars Attack. Hark Ah Lien fought Lo in single combat and defeated him with the technique he had sought.
Her current living descendant is Anna Hark, who continues her family's tradition of ensuring that "the sun will always come up."
