    Curtis Metcalf is a brilliant inventor who was recruited into lifetime servitude by corrupt industrialist Edwin Alva. After realizing his employer's true nature and recognizing that he is "too big" for the proper authorities, Metcalf takes on Alva's criminal empire under the guise of the high-tech vigilante known as Hardware.

    Let me start by saying that I absolutely love Milestone Comics and I was introduced to their characters through the Static Shock cartoon from a decade back. Hardware #1 was the first Milestone issue I ever read and while I do favor the Static issues a little more, Hardware deserves recognition as the first flagship title of Milestone and as a great comic in its own right.
