    Origin

    When Wolverine became aware that he could not beat Romulus because the villain knew him so well that he would always be one step ahead, he assembled a team of seven people Romulus didn't know in order to help him defeat him.

    Creation

    The Hard 7 were created by Daniel Way and Doug Braithwaite and first appeared in Wolverine Origins #41.

    Team Evolution

    Despite being name-checked as being a team of seven people, it's not entirely clear who the seven are exactly (it's unknown if either Daken or Wolverine count towards said number) and due to the fact that all seven were never actually seen together at once. Subsequently The Answer ended affiliation with Wolverine shortly afterwards while the rest of the Hard 7 remained together making the numerical value likely incorrect. The team broke up, no longer having a purpose, following the Reckoning story arc.
