With the ability to overcome great fear and harness the power of will, test-pilot Hal Jordan was chosen to be the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 inheriting the ring of the dying alien Green Lantern, Abin Sur. He later on went to creating his own power ring from his own will power. Through sheer will power and determination, Hal has established an impressive record of heroism across the galaxy with the help of his fellow Green Lanterns as well as his peers in the Justice League.
This is great news. "Green Lantern: First Flight" is being moved up from July 28 to July 21, 2009. Okay, it's only a week. Still, that means we get to see it one week earlier. I am dying to see Hal Jordan in his own feature.
The movie will be PG-13 and available as a special edition 2-disc DVD, Blu-ray or as a single disc. Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) leads the cast as Hal Jordan. Other actors include Victor Garber, Tricia Helfer and Michael Madsen. Bruce Timm is producing again and Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Superman Doomsday) is directing. The movie is scripted by four-time Emmy Award-winning writer Alan Burnet.
At first I never realy like Hal Jordon, because he always look to old school to me. The only GL I liked was John Steward he looks more like new school than old school, but now I like both John Streward and Hal Jordon. I might get this movie on Blu Ray.
