    I reported earlier today that the "Green Lantern" movie will begin filming in September.  There still is no word on any casting.  IESB has reported that a 'source' has mentioned that there is a short list of actors in the running to wear the Green Lantern ring.  Warner Bros. is apparently looking for someone under 30 to play Hal Jordan.  That makes sense if they want to get some sequels out of whoever is chosen.

    The name at the top seems to be Chris Pine, Captain Kirk in the new "Star Trek."

    IESB brings up the question as to whether or not one man can play both Captain Kirk and Hal Jordan.  Their response was, look at Christian Bale.  It's not a bad choice.   If "Star Trek" is a success, it will just add more credibility to Pine.  The bigger of a 'household name' he becomes, the better the odds are for Green Lantern to appeal to non-comic readers.

    I just read that supposedly an official offer has been put out to Chris Pine but he hasn't accepted/declined yet.

    I'm very excited for the new Star Trek, he seems great in the trailers, and I think he has the Hal Jordan look going. Plus, it's GL.... I've been waiting for this for a long time.

    oh no, I just imdb'd him and I have to say.... He was the only thing enjoyable about Lindsey Lohan's Just My Luck. I think he'll do great in the role.
