I know this will make me sound like a total newbie, but that's because I am :P

I've never read a marvel comic book before (only DC) but after seeing the trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy it sparked my interest heavily into reading the comics, problem is, I have no idea where to start! Are there any collections I can get so I can have the complete series or something similar to that?

Could someone give me a list and order of what to read that includes the 2008 team? Are all of them in collections that can be bought physically?
