Review: Green Lantern Emerald Warriors #8 2

So far, so good as part 3 of the War of the Green Lanterns continues. Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner square off at the Green House. Who will come out on top?  The Good I'm living how this story arc is working for each of these books. Emerald Warriors follows the antics of Guy Gardner, Kilowog, and Arisia. While this war hasn't broken out completely, we're seeing the beginnings of it through another Corps member's eyes. Hal finally finds out about Gu...

Don'T Tell Me That's Supposed To Be the Big Fight 3

The fight between Guy Gardner and Hal Jordan that Emerald Warriors has been hyping from day one explodes here, and does it live up to that hype? No, it really does not. It is a solid enough third chapter of War of the Green Lanterns, but the mind control premise and some poor dialogue from Peter Tomasi hold this issue down.  As far as plot progress goes, this issue is really just Guy and Hal coming together and comparing notes with their fight serving as an action piece to pad the issue out. It ...

    The War Rages On! 0

The third part of "War of the Green Lanterns" continues! It's the fight against Guy and Hal, and who will come out on top? With the corps being controlled by Krona, do only two lanterns stand a chance against an army of highly trained Green Lanterns? Or is there more Lanterns somewhere in the universe that haven't responded to Guy's message to Green House? All this and more as the war Rages on!   The Good  The issue is mainly about the fight, and differences, of Guy and Hal. Being bo...

The Story: Part three of the War of the Green Lanters.  Hal and Guy will fight!    The Review: Peter Tomasi is charged with writing this chapter of "War"and he does with his own style.  We have the same mental/ring shockwave of the impurities retun to the Green.  Much like the last chapter Guy and Hal are not affected.  Or should I say seemingly so.  Well in the least the effect is delayed.  The ensueing pages featuer a recap of the difference between Guy and Hal's approach to being a Lantern.  ...

Green Lantern War #3 review 0

The story begins with Guy, Kilowog, and Arisia searching for Zardor, Bleez, and Sodam Yat while he was being mind controlled at the same time. During the GLs trek, thousands of GLs (save for Guy and Kilowog due to their previous exposure with Parallax) are being mind controlled by Krona who is using Parallax to do the task for him and most of the GLs were headed to Oa. Soon after that, Kilowog sent Guy to the Green House where he confronted Hal Jordan. During their meeting, they had an argument ...

    Review: Emerald Warriors 8 0

War of the Green Lanterns part 3 in the epic. Does this issue keep up the pace?   THE GOOD: This series has really never had a bad issue. So when I was reading this I knew it was going to be something good and it was. I really loved the part where Hal Jordan and Guy Garderner are struggling to take off the their green rings and to see them at the very end take them off, was really cool. I also loved it when they see all of the green lanterns possesed or something about that. The fight scence be...

Guy gardner vs Hal Jordan 0

Summary and scans here The Good Rivalry- This issue is almost run entirely on the rivalry of Hal and Guy and it works perfectly. These guys have a history of hating each other and clashing longer than most superheroes have career so it was great to see this highlighted. Guy views Hal as the reason he’s not the greatest Green Lantern while Hal thinks of Guy as just another hot head. I enjoyed this allot! Art- The art was adequate. Cover- A painted cover illustrating Guy choking the life ou...

    Speaks their lingo 0

I have never been a big fan of hero versus hero fights, but here for the second time in as many issues of the crossover, the reader is treated to such a fight done right.  The fight is caused here (as in the other case) by the introduction of the yellow impurity into the rings.  Guy starts off with Kilowog and Arisia in deep space, but soon she turns on them and Kilowog allows Guy to escape.  Guy subsequently meets up with Hal, but as the two talk their personas are increasingly being taken over...
