    Against the Justice League 5

This was the best issue of Green Lantern, since Simon Baz's first appearance.Following the events of the thirteenth issue, the Justice League now questions the new Green Lantern and when Batman touches his ring, a green flash of light comes out of it warning them not to touch it. Thinking Simon Baz was responsible for the ring's actions, the super powered group begins to follow him.I really liked how silly Simon still is. When the JL starts to question him, he gets all nervous and states that he...

    Where to next? 10

Green Lantern Vol 5 #14:Green Lantern has been one of the more solid series that I’ve read since the reboot, both in terms of art and story. This issue continues to deliver on both fronts. I've changed the review format so that you can jump to whichever section you feel like reading rather than having to suffer through the usual onslaught of words. I'll also try to include more pictures to break things up a little more. Background:Just to help you catch up, two issues ago, we were introduced to a...

    Moment of Truth 2

I have really been enjoying this series since it started just over a year ago, and have enjoyed John's run prior to that. The work Johns has done in the Green Lantern Universe over the last 8 years has been phenomenal and he's made the lead character shine throughout, whether it be Hal or Baz. The series over the years has also had amazing artists and Mahnke has been one of the best.PlotThis issue sees the Guardians continue plotting their scheme to remove all emotion from the universe. Green Lantern #14 Review 0

Green Lantern #14 is another great issue in the series. This seems to be holding its own with Hal Jordan and Sinestro temporarily gone as Simon Baz takes the spotlight. So its almost certain that Baz will be the main Green Lantern in the rest of the Rise of the Third Army story arc.The Story: Baz is still trying to figure out why he became a Green Lantern and why he got framed for being a terrorist. In the last issue, the Justice League were sent out by the President and this issue picks up with...

    Blackest Night 2.0 0

Why is it that so many hero vs. hero battles could've been so easily avoided? Honestly, Baz was perfectly willing to work with the Justice League, but as soon as Sinestro's remnants attack, the entire League is in full attack mode, despite Baz clearly not acting hostile. And even right before that, they League is drawn with an almost villainous appearance as they they all but demand his ring. I don't see why they couldn't use Wonder Woman's lasso before taking the ring off, he was perfectly comp...

    A Little More Focus 0

Why I Bought ItTo see the "oh my, I didn't see that coming" of the hero fighting hero action. </sarcasm>.What I LikedThere are a couple of really nice moments in the book that really stand out. I had to laugh when Baz stood there in front of the Justice League and just had some wide eyes going. I also liked the fact that we got a semi hint that the ring is really Sinestro's, which is something I would have guessed all along considering that Hal's part of the ring is just a knock-off of Sin...

THE GOOD:  Doug Mahnke does a fantastic job working on this title. He knows how to draw Earth, but also manages to make some of the coolest looking things in space. The expressions on all the characters are all detailed and at sometimes humorous. The backgrounds are filled with details that make the space around Simon more realistic. The story really focuses on the guardians and the recently entrapped ones who are trying to figure out everything. Simon is a new character and was a huge risk on J...

    Masterpiece 3

Exciting, action-packed and suspenseful, Green Lantern continues to impress issue after issue. As the Third Army continues to wreak chaos across the universe, we see our newest Green Lantern, Simon Baz, get confronted by the Justice League. The art in this issue is brilliant, and I love how this comic shows us every character's situation: Black Hand stuck in the Chamber of Shadows, Simon Baz on the run from the Justice League and the Guardians of the Universe hatching their evil plans to destroy ...
