Cyclops, you were a great Character of the Month, but it's time to say goodbye. The powerful mutant was selected as the champion when we went with an X-Men theme for the previous month, and now, the latest theme is a simple one: archers! Look, we're sure we could have populated the theme with several options, but we all know there's only two characters it would have come down to: Oliver Queen, a.k.a. Green Arrow, and Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye. So why break up the votes? We wanted to make it a closer race and have all of you choose between these two marksman. Seeing as you've read the article's title and you've already seen an image of Green Arrow, you obviously know by now that DC's archer has taken the victory!

Ollie took an impressive lead, receiving 63% of the votes. Despite an overwhelming amount of praise for Fraction and Aja's current volume, Hawkeye only earned 37%. Now that Green Arrow's our Character of the Month, that means you'll be seeing more of him on the homepage throughout the month of October. Sure, he's not scary so it isn't exactly topical, but that doesn't make him any less awesome or worthy of our praise! We'll highlight his best covers, praise his best battles, and promote some of his best stories. We'll even put him to the test in our Battle of the Week segment. Maybe -- just maybe -- we'll put him against a "scary" character when Halloween approaches. We may even write an editorial or two about the hero. And hey, if you're disappointed that Hawkeye didn't win, you're more than welcome to show the Avenger plenty of love and support in the forums.

@feartheliving Sorry man, if makes any difference, part of the reason I voted for Hawkeye is because your such a devoted fan. That and he's an awesome character I wanted to learn more about.

Scary character, hope it's monster related. I cannot think of many monsters that would not beat Ollie in comics. Guess Jason is a good fight, Predator maybe.

Yeah that'll never happen. They've stopped making skins for that long ago. They need to start on Injustice 2 (if the same company is going to do it that is).

Voted for Hawkeye, cause Fraction made him probably one of the most likable characters ever. But it's hard to be disappointed with Green Arrow, especially if we talk pre New 52 G.A., love that guy.

Did you read the debut issue of the new creative team?

@jaken7: It was pretty bad, especially the art. I really don't think that this creative team will be on long. There's still room for improvement, so I'll keep reading. If it doesn't hook me by issue #39. I'll drop it. Green Arrow has been my favorite since 3rd grade, so it'll be hard for me.

I still haven't even read the last arc of Lemire and Sorrentino's run yet because I suck at letting go. Lol. They're sitting there on the top of my "to read pile," but I can't bring myself to do it.

No. But I heard I made a good decision in doing that.

I'm disappointed, but eager to vote for whomever he faces in the weekly battles.

While the Arrow TV show has been great, I can't say I've ever really enjoyed any of his other appearances.

And that's what Comicvine battles are all about: voting for a character out of spite simply because your choice didn't win.

@captainmarvel4ever: @madeinbangladesh: Well it was fighting an up hill battle. Unless you read the stuff he was in you aren't really gonna like Hawkeye as much. Not to mention Green Arrow has had 5 long running solo series at DC. So I knew it was coming but hell if everybody loved Hawkeye then being his fan wouldn't be as fun. :P

Not to mention both are cool character so whoever won deserved it.
