For a little while it's seemed to me that DC has been trying to make Green Arrow a more famous hero

After a few years of Arrow, he'll finally be known as Green Arrow on CW

he's had a decent role in animation for quite a while(mostly tv shows but recently in the Batman Unlimited movies)

had plans for a movie that was scrapped(but could also work in the universe DC has started)

and was given better talent on the comics after a bumpy start that would get most runs cancelled

and in the most recent run he got the first chest symbol I've ever seen him have, and a fairly unique hideout

so what do you think, is DC trying to push him, or is it my imagination?

I don't really think so. And I didn't like Percy's first issue as much as everyone else did.

I think they are, before arrow, him and Hawkeyes were just "the arrow guys", ever since arrow and all the things you mentioned, he's in my top 6 favourite superheroes of all time

@xwraith: I feel like it's the start of a great thing, but if you want to skip the first story, there's 3 good jumping on points soon, next month is the secret origin of his dog, than an annual taking place on halloween, then the beginning of the next story(which looks like it has ninjas)

He just has a TV show. Where he is batman

@jayc1324: except he's expected to change in a big way after taking time off and actually being happy, and gets almost exactly the new 52 costume

@xwraith: yeah, I think the writer or artist said what their group is called but I forget, it probably has something to do with the skulls they're wearing

@mrnoital: none of that changes him being extremely similar to batman and using tons of batman villains, besides him being happy.

@jayc1324: I could argue the first 2 seasons being a mixture of bits of Green Arrow throughout his entire career, and if season 3 went with the outsiders instead of the LoA I could for 3 too

and I'm not sure if you read enough Green Arrow, he's dark a lot of the time, and fights a lot of Batmans villains

@mrnoital: Its not the darkness that makes him like Batman. Its the influence from the batman comics and Nolan movies and the usage of batman villains. Even comic green arrow took a lot of influence from batman.

Yes but that's not a bad thing. He's a great character.

@jayc1324: but lots of the things that happened in the show had a similar event in the comics like Ollie taking about a year of killing all his enemies, like Merlyn successfully destroying some of his city, Isabel Rochev taking over Queen industries being in love with Ollies dad, Ollie was trained on an island by Slades master, this time it was just by Slade, he's had conflicts with Slade as well

they have taken some influence, but I feel like what they've actually taken from Batman is quite a bit less than from GA Comics

I personally i dont think he being pushed forward. He only has his solo series as main book and doesnt have any active role on others books or is member of any team at least so far.

@vitalius: he was onthe JLA then JLU, but the new creative team seems to have taken off anyone that has their own title

and the only people on a team with a solo are on the main Justice League

but he has been a decently big part of 2 kids Batman movies recently, and of course has Arrow

I don't know how you are only becoming aware of the past three years now.

@teerack: I just watched the Batman Unlimited movies, and GA was the only non Bat Family member there for both

And Flash who is another character they've been pushing.
