    Gina, Cheetah, and Julia recover at an inn where they meet Julia's student, the were-jaguar Gar Silvear. Brendan defeats Sander and Thabian while tracking the Magic Sapper, but then Cheetah confronts him for killing her clan. At the last second, Brendan acquires the artifact and great power. Dr. Diggers arrives with backup, but the Magic Sapper drains him and the other spell-casters of their powers. Natasha and Vladimir observe all this from the Realm of the Undead and piece together most of the Lich-King's plan, but they are arrested soon after.
