Origin

The Guardian Herupa Hando Hu and the Zamaron Nadia Safir came to Earth to find ten people to propel Earth into the new millennium. The only problem is that they were very bitter about how they had been treated after the Guardians abandoned them when they formed the Green Lantern Corps. The Manhunters had been lying in wait for centuries waiting for this moment, and they had sleeper agents all over the universe, including Earth. They did everything they could to stop Herupa and Nadia from fulfilling their duty and destiny.

Xiang Po would be the third Earthling to be visited by Herupa and Nadia. Just like all of the chosen, Herupa and Nadia told her in her native language that, “We have chosen ten people on earth to advance the human race, and one of the ten is you! Both the heroes and heroines of Earth join us in asking you to leave this life and enter the future.” Xiang is a Chinese woman who took this news with almost no emotion. She said she would have to check with her parents and possibly the leaders of her country. She would eventually be given the powers to control the Ley Lines of the Earth and become a member of the New Guardians as Gloss.

After the team disbanded due to individual decisions made to part their own ways Gloss had not been scene for a very long time. It is unknown what she did during her sabbatical but sometime later was approached by Jet and the International community to reform the Global Guardians. As a new member she teamed up with such superheroes as Tasmanian-Devil, Crimson Fox III, Bawana Beast, and Jet to go on various internationally sanctioned missions. She was recently killed by Prometheus, who severed her head with a disk.

Powers

When Xiang Po was genetically altered and became Gloss she was given immortality and the particular power to draw awesome amounts of energy from the "Dragon Lines" , also called Ley Lines of the planet Earth. These energy lines of mystic power infuse her with incredible super-human strength and make her incredibly durable, allowing for great defense to damage. Once summoned she can thus command the Dragon Lines, manipulating the Earth's mystical energies into feats of seismic control to create earthquakes and affect local ecosystems. Gloss can also ride the Dragon Lines along as almost riding wind currents but actually redirecting the same mystical Earth energies to propel her along the skies.
