Who are your favorite G.I. Joe characters and why?
I like so many that it's hard for me to narrow them down but I'm going to pick just 3 on each side.
My favorite Joes are: Jinx, Shipwreck and Beachead. I like Jinx because out of all the female characters, she's the most unique in that while she's a ninja like Scarlett, she's actually Asian! Plus she can fight frickin' blindfolded! Shipwreck is just hilarious to me and I just love Beachlead's surly attitude.
As for Cobra: I have to go with the big three: Cobra Commander, Destro and the Baroness, need I say more?

Favorite Joes/Cobras
Cobra Commander: Comfort/Panic
Imagine that the scheming Cobra Commander designs a genetically-engineered soldier named Angel who has wings in order to challenge the might of the glider-soaring Serpentor.
Serpentor has frustrated Cobra Commander in many ways, which would inspire the masked demon to seek creative routes to restoration.
That's what really makes Cobra Commander so representative of the 'angst' associated with terrorism/criminality, which is also why this often deposed Cobra leader is so intriguing in power-shuffling storyboards.
Baroness and Destro: Love Aspirin
I like Baroness and Destro, the two wily (and wed) viziers of Cobra.
More than anything, these two Cobra consultants represent a perception of domestic/community values seen through the 'infrared' eyes of the unusual Cobra force.
Hey, who said villains can't fall in love? While Baroness and Destro may have their love relationship complications (given their nefarious activities with terrorism and allegiance to the likes of Serpentor and Pythona), they nevertheless capture a comic book and fantasy-adventure fascination with 'affection intrigue.'
