G.I. Joe
Team » G.I. Joe appears in 1182 issues.
G.I. Joe is America's elite fighting force. They are the best trained counter-terrorist team. The only defense against the villainous terrorist organization, Cobra.
Confirmed! "G.I. Joe" Will Get A Sequel!
The success of a film in its first weekend usually indicates whether or not there will be a sequel. This is also the case for "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" which managed to bring in $100 million worldwide in it's opening weekend (not factoring in key markets like Germany and Italy). It was no wonder that when asked by the LA Times if there will be a sequel, Rob Moore the vice chairman of Paramount Studios indicated that the film is already about to go into development.
It will be interesting to see what sort of plot line and direction the production company takes considering the fact that so much of the character relationships in the film were changed from what many fans grew to love in both the animated and comic book versions. If it were up to me, I would love for them to bring Storm Shadow back and delve deeper into the character relationship between him and Snake Eyes! What do you guys think? Did you enjoy the first film? Are you looking forward to a sequel, and if so what do you think we can expect to happen in the upcoming film?
I've got my fingers crossed for Firefly! I'm also really hoping they change Cobra Commanders costume to something a bit more recognizable. Their excuse for not giving him a hood was that it was too reminiscent of the KKK. I remember being blown away by that answer. Common…he’s the leader of the world’s largest terrorist organization, a mass murderer, a tyrant…and you’re worried about him “looking bad”? That’s such a Hollywood answer. Give him a freaking hood...at least the silver faceplate and helmet!
More Joes are a given, but I'd rather more Cobra. Tomax and Xamot, Major Bludd, and especially Firefly.
I figured they were making a sequel, or going to. As far as plotline and returning of characters and such, of course we know what's going to happen to Cobra Commander and "metal head" (forgot his name).
[SPOILERS! DO NOT PASS GO!!]
As far as Storm Shadow goes, I doubt he is dead. Yeah, he got stabbed in the chest and fell into the cold cold icey water, but if anything, theyll probably come up with something to bring him back.
Also, I though Scarlett was in love with Duke in the official Joe history and not the other guy? Maybe it could change in the future?
And wasnt Metal Head married to the Baroness? Something else to possibly happen in the future film? I've got a couple ideas as to how they could work that out.
[END SPOILERS!!]
Storm Shadow did die in the comics (or maaaaybe the cartoon). When it came time to 'make' Serpentor (ugh), Cobra dug up the body of a bunch of great warriors to use their DNA and fighting mojo to make up Serpentor's planned awesomeness. Storm Shadow's body was used as well. Then my memory gets a little fuzzy and Storm Shadow was back. Or maybe he was just in a ninja sleep during it all.
As far as falling in icy water, it worked for Steve Rogers...
StormShadow will pull a Capt. America. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from reading comics and old pulp magazines since I was five…someone mysteriously falls into icy cold water and no body floats to the surface…they’re frozen for a future return. Thaw the Ninja freeze pop out, he’ll be back.
the movie ended on an interesting note
and the ninja relationship could be explored, but I like the whole team %Pr

"That was in the comic (marvel). In the cartoon Storm Shadow actually backed Cobra Commander in his attempt to overthrow Serpentor. I always liked that arc. The idea of using the DNA of some of the greatest names(and Sgt. Slaughter lol) in history to create the perfect badass was cool.
As for the sequel I'm hyped, cant even lie. I for one would like to see the Crimson Guard Commanders Tomax and Zamont. As well as the return of Storm Shadow. Lets be honest, he aint dead.

"Roadblock !!!!!! "Play it straight, or there's no doubt, I'll turn your eyeballs inside out" "Hahahaha. Yeah Roadblock was official. Still dont understand why they used Heavy Duty instead but meh.
"Just get Serpentor outta the silly Golden Snake costume and the dude will be good. "They already have :)

Now that is something I'd like to see, but it might be difficult to make a movie where your lead doesn't speak. Though, I guess a prequel would or origin story of Snake Eyes could be interesting.
GI JOE: The Rise of Cobra is like spending the evening with a particularly enthusastic hooker. You know it's bad and you feel kind of cheap for liking it, but it's so much fun that you don't care.
" humans and their greed...oh well people alway complain sequals are never as good as the first, atleast they made it easier than usual to attempt to make a better film the second time around "people complained bout the original...before it was out and all the way back to when it was announced, some expressed complete rage. i tend to ignore any of that untill theres an actual film out, and ive seen it for myself. i think thats only proper. and speaking of your portrait, Spider-Man 2 did ALOT better all around than the first.
now, three things i want in the sequel....
