@Remi: This is true (I guess, I kinda lost interest in Marvel's event after the abortion that was Siege) but I still give them credit in handing it to new writers every once in a while. They end up sucking, but who knows, maybe the next one will be good. Johns already has a reputation to the point where I just have to look at Trinity War and know I'm not gonna care about it.

I think from a storyteller's perspective... retcons and revamps feel something like this: you're in a bar telling an old experience you had about a fishing trip. you said you caught a blue marlin... wait no, you caught a barracuda... wait, i remember now... it was a sword fish. and then you go back to the beginning and tell how the blue marlin got away after all, and it was chased by a barracuda which leaves you the swordfish. by telling so many stories, no matter how factual it was... it felt like more of a "tall tale". or a whale of a tale.

And he tells stories (referring to Mr. Johns) that would fit his perspective... like how he never liked the justice league international, or it seems to appear that way. Like the Batman one punch incident, how infantile can that get?

I thought Johns liked Batman. In Infinite Crisis, who stopped Brother Eye? Batman stopped it. In Flashpoint, who helped Barry Allen and (Spoiler Alert) killed Reverse Flash? Batman helped Barry and killed Reverse Flash. Although Flashpoint's Batman wasn't Bruce Wayne.

It's not that he doesn't like Batman, It's that he absolutely, totally, completely doesn't get Batman as a character. Every time he tries to say something about Batman he ends up getting it completely wrong. He kinda, sorta, maybe gets him right in Infinite Crisis, except the whole point of Infinite Crisis was that Batman went off his goddamn rocker and turned into the mother of all paranoid freaks. Johns can only get Batman right when he thinks he's wrong.

Also, every time he's in the same scene with Hal he turns into a foil to show how awesome Hal is.

Geoff is disliked because he helped push that awful script for Greenlantern movie into Hollywood, the movie flops and now plans for a good JLA movie is in trouble. Johns can write great, he has good runs on Green Lantern, from Rebirth through to Blackest Night but he's also overly found of the silverage....and one thing about the silverage is its not very good. He also lowers himself to throwing out tortureporn gore pages once in a while, a girl getting molested, some body getting ripped apart with guts everywhere, superboyprime murdering people....he's not the only one Frank Miller, Bendis, the Punisher MAX, TopCows beserker comic all does this style of writing too. The Nu52 or DCNU is the one with big mistakes, not all is bad some stories and characters needed a revamp but starting over in a "new", "hip" and "relevant" and destroying stuff which already worked is not good. Johns and Jim Lee are really pushing this Nu52 verse and not all of it is working, there are lots of complaints against the Lee and Geoff Johns retcons and revamp which lead to 52. Batman and Green Lantern are supposed to be the same...yes the same!? so their sliding timelines many years of feats and history are now compressed?? Years of Justice League compressed into months and weeks?? Batman continuity now has 5 robins in the past 5 years. Batman himself had 154,731 women during this 5 year run and only got one girl pregant, gordon with his compressed history climbed the ranks of the police department faster than any other police officer in the world. Ever. Many characters lost their great back stories but DC hasn’t rebooted their Green Lantern continuity, mostly because it’s being spearheaded by Geoff Johns. He has retconed the hell out of some characters like changing Brainiac's origins and making Amon Sur's race survive beheadings

Geoff's retcons are HORRIBLE and defy continity. Superboy was a human clone designed to be as Kryptonian as possible but he was still HUMAN. His human DNA was studied and confirmed several times in his solo series. Then all the sudden ol' Geoff makes Kon-El half Kryptonian and half human which is impossible if you read his comics throughout the 90s. Superboy's DNA was even damaged to the point where they needed a human donor to repair it.

Hal Jordan possessed? Parallax doesn't make sense because the Central Battery he was suppossedly trapped in was destroyed a few times. Not to mention that when Hal was Parallax he was in total control and even held back from fighting and killing other heroes when possible...not to mention when he willingly died to save Earth from the Sun-Eater. Doesn't sound like a possessed man to me. Even during Zero Hour he tried to bring everyone back to life. It just doesn't make any sense.

Bringing Barry Allen back was lame because he was dead for over 2 decades and Wally had already surpassed him
