    History

Renard has written for numerous Disney Publications. Her life changed dramatically in the summer of 1969 when, as a teenager, she snuck into the hotel room where John Lennon and Yoko Ono were staging their Bed Peace protest. Lennon took an instant liking to Gail, and they became very good platonic friends. Lennon made certain to have Gail returned to the other part of the hotel she was staying with her mother. Renard even wrote a book about her experience, entitled "Give Me A Chance". John gave Renard a notecard on which the original lyrics for "Give Peace A Chance" were written. The notecard sold for £350,000 on July 10th, 2008. Renard is a Bafta Award-winning writer, having written for the BBC, C4 comedy and childrens' series, ITV, in addition to numerous books, films, radio, and stage plays.
