Frank Johnson was a cartoonist who made a specialty of imitating the style of other artists as such he was able to take over the artwork for such newspaper strips as Beetle Bailey, Hi & Lois, Mutt & Jeff, Bringing Up Father, Boner's Ark and others, and making it look as if the original artist was doing it, in at least one instance doing an imitation of the art used in the Dennis the Menace comic strip for the Li’l Genius, Li’l Tomboy and Li’l Rascal Twins for Charlton, he also worked in comic books doing the art for comic book versions of cartoons such as Dudley Do-Right and Underdog so that it looked like the animation.
