François Corteggiani stands out above all as a writer. As a young man, he moved to Paris in 1973 and began working in advertising and illustration for various newspapers. After a brief period at Spirou magazine, he went on to work for Pif Gadget, where he dealt with various characters and highly successful series. Years later he would become the editor of the magazine from 2004 to 2008. His has worked on dozens of albums and series such as De Silence et de sang, Robin des bois, Chroniques des pays de Markal, Chafouin et Baluchon, Le Casque et la fronde, Les Bonheurs d'Agathe or Bastos et Zakousky, L'Archer blanc. Few of his collaborations have reported the success he has achieved throughout his stint in the Blueberry series La Jeunesse.
