Possible Cyclops Jean Grey Storm Recasts In Apocalypse

Latino-Review have scored a cracking X-Men: Apocalypse scoop, revealing which young stars are being eyed for the roles of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm in the 2016 movie. A shortlist emerged late last year of course, but here's a new one for you! For Scott Summers, Taron Edgerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie Blackley (If I Stay), and Tye Sheridan (Mud) are all being considered. Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) and Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) are being looked at for Jean Grey, but with the latter missing out on roles in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is she interested in a big franchise like the X-Men? Regardless, we also have news on Storm, as Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B) and Zendaya Coleman (K.C Undercover) are both possible candidates. All pretty solid possibilities here. Who would you guys pick?

@jonny_anonymous: My question is that they are eyeing younger actors, we are to assume Storm and Jean are around the ages of Famke and Haley. How are they going to expalin they are younger. I'm sure AoA, but that's more alt times lines and crap that are going to have retcon later

@darling_luna: They already retconned the future in Days of Future Past so that stuff never happened and Apocalypse picks up after that in the 80's.

If these are the choices then for Jean Grey I would say Sophie Turner. but if I had my choice it would be Amanda Righetti as Jean. For the younger versions though I think Turner would be a good fit. Edgerton for Cyclops. I dont like either actress really for Storm. If they want to go the disney kid shows route then I'd use Keke Palmer over either of them. I know they might be trying to go young but Yaya Dacosta or even Zoe Saldana would fit. Amber Stevens in another decent choice. Storm is kind of hard to cast simply because not many young african american actresses get featured but still Im not sure those two listed are the best choices.

Either way its good to see we are getting more Xmen movies

@jonny_anonymous: This is why I'm not sure they should go with the teenage angle. However Zoe has a younger look to her regardless of her age. I think she could pull it off just fine, but whatever obviously they aren't thinking about her and probably could use her since she did GOTG under Marvel

I think Fox would be smart to swipe Sophie Turner for the role of Jean. Saoirse's acting style, her persona onscreen is just too far from what Famke Janssen developed for the role. With Jennifer Lawrence, there's a whole makeup job and the fact that Mystique is a shapeshifter and that she started out with different morals- that makes sense to me and Fassbender is brilliant. But the weakest part of the newer X-men films is McAvoy who is quite cheesy but, more importantly, SO not anything like Patrick Stewart. That would be Saoirse Ronan if she accepted the role.

BUT in early development of "Age of Ultron", it was Saoirse who was rumored to be cast as Wanda before Elizabeth Olsen. And, of course, we know that there was a cut scene wherein Quicksilver's mother referred to another sister that was supposed to be Wanda. Could this be a case of Fox getting a little revenge?
