This issue sees Clark and Eradicator come to blows before a temporary truce is called in order to tend to Jon's examination, we get some backstory on the connection between General Zod and the Eradicator units, before Eradicator decides to purge Jon of his human genome by, which leads to a shock fate for one member of the Super-Family.

I kind of got Dragoball Z vibes from this one...a little too much like the Perfect Cell saga (especially with Eradicator's ability), with Jon in the Son Gohan role by issue's end, Still fun though.

Haha nice parallels to the dbz cell saga, i didn't pick up on that. This was a fun issue. And if i was the editor would have had a really strong urge to caption that last page "Oh S#!%". But seriously Jon can't catch a break with pets.

Krypto was really calm though, i imagine he can't tell the difference between new 52 Superman and PC Superman.(Which weirdly makes sense)

Love Jorge Jiminez's art ever since he drew Supes in smallville season 11.

But another thing if i was the editor i would make sure Krypto was drawn consistent, is he a wolf or what!!? Also really hope he's not dead and just a phantom again otherwise my eyes are gonna tear and flare up as much as Jon's.

The Krypto scene caught me off guard... Now I'm sad. Another solid issue otherwise.

So it is true, Krypto is back to looking like a dog again post Rebirth rather than a wolf dog appearance he had in the New 52. That's a peculiar change but I can't say I disapprove of it. Perhaps something was missing by Krypto's depiction as a more wolfish hound rather than the loyal dog look he was drawn with prior to the New 52.

@ultimatesmfan: No Krypto's not permanently dead, the solicits for Superman in October mention Krypto going with Superman and Jon to Dinosaur Island.

Another good issue. This alternate origin for the Eradicator is interesting. Jorge Jiminez is a great alternative to Patrick Gleason for art.

The only thing that I didn't like about this issue is that I wanted more by the end of it. When I got to the last page it was like that "give it to me now!!" gif.

Jon is going whupp some Eradicator ass next issue!

Is it me or in the two page spread about Eradicator's origin it looks like he absorbed the souls of all Krypton??

Some thoughts:

  • This Eradicator is awesome.
  • Krypto's change in appearance is weird. I wonder if it was a mistake or it has some meaning behind it.
  • Solid art and issue in general.
  • Terrific moments. Especially the last two pages.

Haha, nice. The Ew52 butthurt is real.

Yeah, Krypto's not dead, though I wish he were. Not a fan of all that Silver Age cheese. His reverted appearance is definitely not a mistake. Either Eradicator transformed Supermillennial's Krypto or this is part of the overall Rebirth meta-story, where the Post-Crisis universe is slowly creeping back.

This was a really good issue with some interesting changes. At first I had an problem with how quickly Supes attacked Eradicator, but then I remembered how much trouble he was. I hope the consistency of making me want to read more asap continues.

I saw that too and wondered the same thing, I suppose it's either that or the other eradicators...which are robots so I guess not.

Loved the issue tomansi really knows what he is doing. I don't think that was Krypto it might have been his dog he has on the farm and for some reason they took it with him. Either way it was a great issue and I like how they are handling Jons powers with him being a hybrid.

The real Eradicator is back, feels so good. This character can easily act as the substitute for gritty Superman, DC just needs to make him interesting first and then give him a place in their line up.

Eradicator was great but I don't know why I had the feeling that the whole issue felt a little rushed or maybe that was just me.
