Dan Jurgen I would think. I read the old stuff out of all of that, HIm and Mark Waid did nice Superman. I particularly enjoyed the Imperiax story line.
For me it is "Superman: Camelot Falls". Here we have the canon pre-52 Superman who was written as a powerful, clever, confident and kind super-hero, you can't have a good superman if you take away just one of these qualities....infact we rarely have a well written Superman.
Oh yeah , Camelot Falls has had some of the best art that the character has ever had in my opinion
His work on All Star, Action, Beyond and Master Men is phenomenal and the blue print for how to write a perfect Superman.
Johns, Loeb, Kelly, Busiek, Maggin, Byrne, Waid, Binder, Siegel, Millar and Jurgens all did highly influential and important runs on the character as well.
