Since I starting reading more indy books over the last few years I actually prefer mini series now. Read a great story and then move on to the next one, usually with a different great creative team. In fact, I'm more likely to buy a book knowing that in 6-12 issues the story will be complete and I won't have to commit to it any longer than a year or so. Mark Millar has made a career off doing this. Don't get me wrong, some of my favorite indy books are ongoing. Outcast, Deadly Class, and Sons of the Devil just to name a few. Something that those books do that I also like is they'll go on hiatus for a couple months after finishing an arc.

I think I'll be checking this out. Spurrier has done great work with BOOM! before.
