What if This Had Happened...Instead of That?

Alright, the premise is basically a 'What If'. What if (insert something here) had happened instead of (insert something else here). You don't need to necessarily answer the question, it's basically just a thread to ponder the twists and turns that stories/characters/what have you could have taken if just one thing had happened differently.

What if Charmix's Empire and Impero's Empire had gone to war instead of uniting?

Once I actually thought about an RPG where Liberty returns to earth to discover it had been taken over by Ninjans.

Reading Kiss the Blood makes me wish I'd had the chance to throw Kratesis at Ten In.

I enjoyed that rp but I "cashed my check" with a ski mask on (sports fans know what I'm saying there lol)

What if Liberty had studied for an extra hour when she was ten. Reading about the theoretical particle 'tachyon', which have negative mass and thus always move faster than light. Realizing that it was possible to go faster than light, and because her powers are whatever she THINKS they are.. she eventually learns to transition to N-Mass for FTL.

With FTL she's able to accomplish and return from her very first mission.. in just days instead of years. Instead of returning in 2012 and meeting the illusive Gambler, then joining the LoS she returns in 1961 just a few days after leaving.

How many intergalactic conquerors were stopped? How many alien invasions repelled before reaching Pluto? How much world destruction prevented? France, still on the ground?

And one hour is the entire difference between CVnU Liberty and Prime Liberty. Its totally egotistical and stuck up, but its also my personal headcanon for why CVnU is in much better shape than Prime.

Here's one for you. What if the Black Hand didn't assassinate Arch duke Franz ferdinand and thus cause a virtual orgy of bloodshed in the 20th century? After all, pretty much every single conflict of note after world war 1 likely would not have occurred if it didn't happen. And not only would it alter the political scene, it'd alter personal lives, without the first world war to hammer in just how much war sucks, warmongering would be a thing, pre-metahuman Empires would still be there, thus giving little to no room for things like Iberia or Tenebrasque as the real world nations would be larger and stronger than they would be in OTL, bolstered by their own colonial holdings, and generally things would suck less if you were white.
