Breaking News Alert:
"Trouble in Gothic? It seems that way. Crews hired by various companies and backed by the US government have worked around the clock to rebuild Gothic City...and that construction seems to have hit a snag. A snag that has begun to cost people their lives." The male news anchor began. He had the face of one of those people you trust, it was a face that had made him quite a bit of money over the years as he moved from one cable news network to the other. As he spoke images of Gothic City's new buildings go up were displayed for the viewers and then the screen was filled with a video that panned in on a group of construction workers walking carefully among scaffolding as they worked on the mid level of a high rise building. Their work was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a beautiful young woman in vigilante style clothing as she flew up and then landed on the scaffolding.
The men gathered around her, conversing freely with her and clearly flirting.
"People on the scene report the girl identified herself as Gothic and she spoke to everyone about their time living in the city, what they looked forward to about moving back once their work rebuilding the city was done. Eventually however their supervisor, a man working for the US government, approached. When he attempted to break up the conversation, men on the scene reported she asked where he was from."
The video resumed, showing a large somewhat portly man that stood a good foot above the others walk over to break up the conversation. The words exchanged weren't clear and the smart phone video somewhat unstable as whoever held the phone moved to get a better view. Suddenly, without warning, twin red beams lanced out from her eyes and struck the man square in the chest. He screamed in agony and the video cut short.
"Before she could be restrained, the girl flew off." The news anchor said as the camera returned to his frame. "This marks the third killing in two weeks of someone working for or otherwise associated with the United States Government in Gothic City. Though none can identify the killer from the first incident, this girl has been identified as the chief suspect in both of the other killings. Police are currently searching for her and ask everyone living in the city to keep their eyes open but caution you not to approach the girl self-identifie only as Gothic, she is to be considered armed and extremely dangerous."
