◆ The Location ◆

The villa of house Aurelius is located near the culturally rich city of Naples and sits on the southern outskirts of the Monti Lattari regional park, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The estate of the Aurelians covers a small yet thickly wooded peninsula that acts as a peaceful enclave to the family and it's allies. Arguably the main feature of the peninsula, disregaring it's untouched biosphere, is a grand villa sitting on the south-most end, known by the locals as "The Eagle's Nest". It consists of several intertwined buildings and elaborate yet beautiful terraced gardens.

"The villa was built, or more precisely rebuilt, in the 17th century by Enzo Aurelius, a man who gained a vast fortune from his business expansion into the viticultural field. Before Enzo bought the peninsula off, it already housed a small and desolate monastery on it's south end. Completely barren save for a nest of eagles that made their home in one of the towers. Intrigued, the Aurelian rebuilt the monastery into a luxurious house worth it's demanding owner.

Following the centuries, the house switched furniture and appearance, but never it's inhabitants. The villa proudly presents itself as the primary accomodation of House Aurelius."

The exterior of the dwelling is kept quite simplistic, adorned only by classical statures depicting the Aurelian ancestors and focusing on the natural beauty of the landscape. Architecturally, it could be classified as a marvel of early Renaissance that sports a complex system of terraced gardens and patios that seamlesly pour into the local ecosystem.

The interior, however, is quite astonishing. Not for it's mostly Victorian furnishing and rich collections of antique artefacts, but for being a master piece of secrecy. A residue from it's monastery times, the villa is interwoven with a maze of secret doors and hidden passage ways that would trap any unlucky intruder.

It should be also noted that the homestead is capable of running entirely self-sufficient as all it's infrastructure still contains are pre-industrial systems that run in paralel with their more modern counterparts. In case of a black-out, the dwelling is capable of switching to these older systems to provide similar comfort to it's inhabitants. Furthermore, the peninsula sports numerous natural food and water sources aside from the lush Aurelius gardens.

◆ The Main Building ◆

The largest building serves as a communal area for the whole family. Many of it's features are purely recreational, sporting a large victorian lounge with modern electronics and a gaming lounge with pool tables and a dancing studio.

What was once a church was now refurbished into a conference room / security and information hub for the patriarch and the family to solve their personal matters in.

The Librarium

Secluded roughly in the middle of the building, completely sealed off spare the entrance and without any windows or natural lighting, is a place of concentrated Aurelian knowledge. Dubbed "The Librarium", it is a pseudo-vault where the family gathered all of it's records and literature over the centuries. All catalogued and stored in vast bookshelves.

It also houses a smaller inner chamber where the family usually stores their most prized possessions and the artefacts that they collected over their lives.

The Basement

Below the living space lies an area simply refered to as the basement. It is a place of physical and mental perfection where members of the family come to hone their skills. In this very enclave the family shares their combat experience and sharpens their martial ability through katas and calisthetics.

The cobblestone Basement features a rather out of place state-of-the-art gym with weightlifting and gymnastics equipment but also the kata equipment (Wing-chun wooden dummies, speed mits, etc.) However, it's dense walls also offer unparaleled sound muffling capabilities which is why the training area also comes with a "power range" where the family can hone both their powers and sharpshooting skills.

The Quarters

The second building that is connected to the main one through the world renowned terraced "tree" patio is devoted purely to the accomodations of the family and it's guests. Like their powers, their quarters differ in atmosphere and appearance to fit each of the Aurelians' particular tastes.

my quarters is setup in this fashion to practice my healing mantras, and keep the ancient scrolls passed down for Paladins that came before. The two books kinda oversize are written in Enoch and we paladins receive translation to the books revealing holy spells, each book has only been partially translated so far. Further devotion will one day unlock the full manifest of holy spells.

A vision into his own future, shows a powerful Paladin. This vision strives Arthur to keep the faith.

Vincenzo Aurelius was a man of simple tastes. Included amongst them were good books, fine wines, beautiful women, and vindication. Sometimes, if he really desired, he could enjoy all four at once. But more often than not, he would need to settle for only two or three at a time.

He sat in a comfortable armchair within his quarters, sipping casually from a glass of Incisa della Rocchetta Sassicaia. He had been reading Machiavelli again; while a bit of a thick book to digest, he nonetheless enjoyed the philosophical quandary that the dead Italian loved to wrestle with. Turning the pages with his long fingers, he closed his eyes, letting the wine roll across his tongue. Exquisite.

He extended his palm, casually willing one of his blades to come to him. It shook upon his desk, then spun to float gently into his grip. He twirled it between his fingers, admiring the smooth design. He extended the blade, watching as it snapped to life in full lethal form. It was akin to a gladius, but longer, and optimized for cutting as well as stabbing. A mix between an Ancient Roman symbol of efficiency and the lethal grace of a Japanese katana, his unique sword was a valuable possession. Smiling, he replaced it upon his desk next to his mask, leaning back into his chair.

We have such a diverse family nowadays. But I, for one, am proud of my heritage. Pure Italiano. Feels good, man. Feels good.

He gestured for his wine glass to return, taking another small sip. He did not waste a single drop with rampant, uncontrolled guzzling; wine such as this was to be enjoyed molecule by molecule.

Simple tastes.

The ocean breeze washed over the handsome facial features of the elder Aurelius as he stood at the balcony of his personal quarters. The smashing of waves against the rocky coast combined with the perfect temperature created the ideal scene for relaxation in the eyes of many telepaths….But not in Dante's opinion. The perfect setting for his psychic abilities were a space of complete emptiness with nothing, but silence and void of all life. By severing the connection he had to the world, if only for a few moments, created a paradox where he could actually reach out to the world. Prodding the essence of the world with his mind. However, something was off. Like a small forgotten note that keeps tugging at his conscious, preventing him from enjoying the view.

He shrugged off the notion and walked quietly back into his chambers with his hands crossed behind his back. Upon entering the room, it could be quickly observed that it was filled with modest decorations and items collected through the span of his life. An autographed and framed picture of Dante shaking hands with Johnny Cash and another with him drinking wine with President Jimmy Carter. Along the shelves closest to the entrance door were novels and books that seemed older than the telepath himself. Their faded words and worn seams almost unraveling at the spine due to overuse.

He strutted through without giving any attention to the materialistic ties and wandered out and into the corridor, making his way to another family member. More portraits of allies and formidable foes lined hanging on the brick and mortar halls, but still, he gave no attention. Upon finally arriving at the door of interest he gave a firm knock with his knuckles before speaking.

"Vici? Are you here?"

He could have searched the room with his mind or attempt to track the younger man with his abilities derived from the Lazarus pits so long ago, but he made a vow to never use his gifts against family members unless a situation dictated it.

A firm knock at the door of his quarters caused Vincenzo to look up from his book. Dante had come looking for him.

Placing his wine glass on his desk, he rose to the door, opening it for the current head of the family.

"Afternoon, Uncle," he began, fingers rapping silently upon the doorframe. "Care for a sip of wine?" he enquired, gesturing to the bottle that rested within his study. "I could grab us another glass."

The door opened rather quickly given the distance it might have taken the occupant to move from his seated position to the doorway, but it's almost expected by one of the deadliest and agile family member. His half brother, Raleigh, may disagree with the statement however. It was intriguing to compare the two siblings as they were so similar, but so different from each other. Whether either of them cared to admit it or not, the comparison could be easily made given enough time.

"Wine?"

He raised an eyebrow as a smile creeped across his face upon glancing at the liquid filled glass on the work desk. It could also be pointed out that Vincenzo was a noticeably more refined than those in his generation and had a taste for finer things.

"I'm not too keen on drinking this early in the day, but….if you're offering."

He was lying and his nephew was more than capable of detecting the fib if he so desired. Dante needed something to ease his mind and to put his body at ease even if were only for a few moments of peace derived from conversation.

The scent of ocean breeze carried by the oceanic king trailed with him, the smell of salt and cooked fish wafted as Kai entered the open door, his unshaven facial features adorned his sculpted features.

He greeted his father and Vici with a personable smile, his hearty voice reverberating; "Greetings, my family. I heard wine?"

"Ciao, Kai. Back from your coral reef?" joked Vincenzo. "I'll be right back with the glasses," he said, promptly vanishing into thin air.

True teleportation was a tricky business; the art of utterly destroying ones' own molecules and rebuilding them perfectly in another location required discipline, and a good tolerance for pain. Many "blinkers" actually move through other dimensions, rather than confining themselves to one. Because of this, their atoms often remain intact. This is not the case with Vici, as he actually eliminates the atoms from one area while instantaneously replicating them elsewhere through use of his power. In theory, this would mean that the Vici that now stood in the kitchen was merely a copy of the one that was just in his quarters. Such trivial natures did not trouble him, though, and he had long grown so accustomed to the pain of destroying ones' self that he didn't even feel it anymore.

Picking up three more wine glasses from the cupboard, he returned to the room, re-materializing where he had stood mere seconds ago.

"I brought one extra glass. Feel free to enjoy as much as you want." Pouring two glasses for his guests, he opened one of the windows to his room, letting the light breeze into the quarters alongside the bright light.

(And the era of the 3rd family legacy begins. Awesome job)

Ultra Girl sat high up on the deceased Dragon Erel 'Dabotee's head not to far from the hole she placed in battle, "Blasting monsters, never breaking a sweat" she looked on her side to see the people below that seemed small like ants

"When you're taking down Mountain sized Dragons that puts quite a strain on your wand hand" Ultra Girl commented to herself as she stood up on the mile tall corpse "Back to Earth portal!" she shouted as she aimed forward with her Wand thus creating a hole through time and space to return back to the Vine Prime Earth.

With a smug face she stepped into a thickly wooded peninsula as the portal closed behind her, not to soon afterwards she was squinting her eyes as she analyzed her surroundings only to then speak in a perturbed tone "I have no idea where I am"

Meanwhile, deep in the woods surrounding the villa, The Aurelian Phoenix was resting in his personal oasis. Surrounded by tall trees with dark bark except for a lonesome oak that stood on a tiny stone cliff.. In it's roots Rae, being the handyman he was, made a dwelling much like an animal. It was an enclave and a place of meditation, in some ways akin to his uncle's personal quarters. It was right here where he spent most of his free time, alone to contemplate about life, his only company being that of wildlife.

Suddenly he heard a loud *FWOOOSH!* sound, a rock acord in the Bethoven symphony of nature, that woke him from his peaceful sleep and managed to scare off a group of does that ran past the Aurelian. Him they knew as an ally, but whatever scared them was something alien.

"What the hell?", he inquires before deforming into a smoke cluster and dashing to the tree-tops.

Like Tarzan he fluidly moved through the treetops, like a born acrobat without the fear of falling down. He jumped from branch to branch quickly passing through the tree-tops before arriving at the source of the portal. Immediately, his pine-green eyes caught the glimpse of blonde hair. Intrigued he stealthily strode closer to identify the intruder. (@ultra_girl_)

At this point he would usually contact his uncle for advice, but than again how harmful could a tiny girl be? So he disappeared into the shadows before deforming again and creeping up behind the intruder, his smoke mass tactically moving through the tree shade to blend into the enviroment. He followed by reforming again, hoping to scare the female intruder.

@raleigh_aurelius: Raleigh was indeed successful in startling the Princess from another dimension, unfortunately every action has a side effect.

Ultra Girl wasted no time in attacking with a mystical beam of blue-white ice so cold that it would not only freeze the very atoms of her target but also shatter them should they come into contact with it, the beam traversed towards Raleigh but unlike most beams this one was sentient like and would track its target at speeds equal to the speed of sound until it hit its mark or get intercepted by a physical object.

"Success" Rae thinks as his mark jumps away. However, his thoughts of confidence are quickly turned into panic as he sees the young girl shooting some sort of ice beam in retaliation.

"Whooah!", the only word he manages to put together as the beam draws near. Out of pure trained reflex, Rae shifts his center into smoke to let the beam pass harmlessly through. "Chill lady, I don't want to hurt you or--" he quickly ceases his explanation as he feels a sharp pain in his left arm.

The beam circled around and returned like a homing missile, hitting the unsuspecting Aurelius in the forementioned area and immediately freezing it completely solid. He bends down under the sheer weight of his now ice-crystal adorned appendage.

His sights immediately shift from his arm to the intruder and his brow frowns in anger. "Seriously?" he proclaims whilst pointing with his free hand onto the icicle.

@raleigh_aurelius: She squinted her eyes skeptically as she analyzed his features "So you're not a Forest Demon?", she began to pace around him in a circle as she looked at him from several meters away "if it is true, maybe you wouldn't mind...?" she grabbed her wand with both hands and aimed it at his back "A BLAST OF HOLY WATER!" a heavy stream of luke warm blessed water headed towards Rae.

Whether it hit or not Ultra Girl would wait to see how he reacted, after all one can't be too careful.

"What the-- What the f--?", the woman's second spell hit him again. Now completely drenched and still weighted down by his frozen appendage he was quickly approaching the limits of his patience. Like a hunchback gorilla he drags himself to a tree, he couldn't dashi without risking deformation, and attempts to shatter the ice on his hand, fruitlessly.

"Hrrm.", he snarls at the cause of his current misery before harnessing his absorbed heat and fire Rae channels the warmth into his hand to finally set himself free. And after several moments his hand, albeit wet, is back in it's original shape.

"What's gotten into you?...", he begins as he pulls his crimson beanie off his head and dries it by twisting it in his hands. "...Have you ever seen a forest demon this handsome?", Rae jestingly adds.

It would be cool if it turns out that this is a family of inhumans, just throwing that out there.

@raleigh_aurelius: Ultra Girl scoffed in disbelieve as she placed both of her hands by her heart as if she was offended "I'm sorry, but I'm Ultra Girl and I can't be so Ultra when a Forest Demon is eating out my heart!"

She sighed while looking down and speaking downhearted "No but for real sorry, I was a bit to rash" raising her head up she attempted to remain optimistic while crossing her arms "Beauty is only in the eye of the beholder, but for your question yes I've seen FD's in human appearances before"

Her fists move with graceful motion and the slightest display of well toned muscle. A fist clinched in a perfect formation. Her blows had always been like jackhammers having on several occasions delivered a one punch knock out. And that was before the pits, now her muscle and bone was stronger boosted by manipulation of the earthen elements in her body and frequent tense training and military operations. A style further heightened by her cybernetic and robotic hands.

With these punches came automatic fire. Her boxing exercise flowed into target practice as gun fire ripped apart paper targets. It took time to adopt gunfire to what was essentially a wrist mount. She'd had these cybernetics for a year though and by now it was second nature.

This all haled from the fact the well equipped training room saw her perhaps more then any other family member. She was a modern Spartan in a way, not as cold but just as rigorous in her practice. The life of a soldier bred memories one didn't want. Exorcise and missions though kept those inner devils at bay.

Leon stood atop the roof of his quarters clad only in shorts, as he grilled what would soon become his meal. He doubted anyone other than himself would be eating it, as the House Aurelius is known for a more refined taste than crudely prepared meat that had been repeatedly prodded with the same sword an equally crude man used to kill on a weekly basis. As he reached to take another drink from his can of beer, Leon discovered it was empty, and crushed it into a small disc between his hands before throwing it outwards towards the forest with one hands, preparing his binoculars with the other. He watched carefully as his crude shuriken flew through the air, planting it's self in a far-out tree. "Alright! Gotta be at least a mile or two." Leon quietly cheered, before laughing to himself as he bent over to grab another beer from the cooler at his feet, leaving the meat unattended. He traversed the roof to a makeshift workshop, his exo-suit standing upright next to a toolbox resting on a bench. The various mechanical ports and inputs linking to his nervous system were clearly visible on his upper back, as well as 56 years worth of a soldier's scars. He picked up a wrench and began to tighten the bolts on the joints. He had a box marked with a 'High Explosive' warning sign, and opened it to reveal a variety of high-tech grenades inside, which he loaded into the launchers, fiddling with the selector dial to make sure everything worked properly. His exo-suit maintenance, however, was interrupted by the smell of burning meat. "Shit." Leon twirled his sword around infront of him as he walked over to his grill, flipping the food with one hand, while reaching for the walkie-talkie on the small table next to his cooler with the other. He clicked the button, and the matching walkie-talkie located on Abelle's belt crackled to life. "Bell, you wanna come up and help me out with the food? Heh, maybe I'll go a round with ya in the training room without my exo. Over." As he waited for a reply, Leon laid his sword over the grill and slipped on a pair of dirty, torn jeans and a stained T-Shirt in equally distressed condition. As he waited, he continued to alternate between his exo-suit and his meal, taking his beer with him to both locations, a radio tuned to a 70's rock station in the background.
