The following items are common pieces of equipment worn by the natives of Mars:
Reinforced Hides:
The most common clothing worn by the He'Draxi is a set of interwoven hides from different animals layered one over the other. The bottom most layer appears and acts almost like cloth, it is the most flexible layer by far and serves to help vent body heat. This layer is often created by tanning and thinning Dezille hides. These hides offer little combat level protection but are enough to serve the basic function of clothing.
The second layer on the torso, arms and lower legs consists of multiple wrapped layers of hardened Vouxkey hides. These durable tanned hide wraps serve to ward off even razor sharp slashing weapons and claws and can also act as a barrier against low level ballistic weaponry or even certain energy weapons which will find their power dampened by the dense layer of hide. The Vouxkey are tough beasts who's hides are virtually impervious to small arms fire and these hides, tanned and wrapped, create a layer of armor that is on par with many more advanced metal designs used by technologically advanced races.
The third and outer layer of their torso, arm and lower leg wraps is the most durable and the hardest to penetrate with even advanced weaponry. Although the He'Draxi are skilled hunters and excellent scouts even they will not hunt the always powerful Dragovoot...but they do know where the creatures go to die. Brave young He'Draxi seeking to pass their right of passage into adult hood will complete their wraps by sneaking into this graveyard, past the Dragovoot that guard the place and carefully claim their skins from one of the fresher corpses. It is these skins that the outer layer of their wrap is composed of. This means the outer layer of their wrap is as potent as any armor available in the solar system, proof against all but the most devastating of weapons while still being flexible because it has been thinned and reduced to a wrappable hide. This leather hide marks He'Draxi as adults with responsibilities within their tribe and the tradition of collecting the hide dates back to the earliest origins of He'Draxi culture.
Finally, the shoulder and forearm guards are composed of yet another material taken from the native creatures of Mars. He'Draxi are known to hunt Sesitar from time to time. Like all other beasts they hunt every single piece of this creature is put to use, including the hard outer plates. These plates compose the armored shoulder, knee and forearm guards. They are less durable than the outer two layers of their torso coverings but provide protection against glancing blows. They are durable enough to allow the He'Draxi to use the forearm guards to protect themselves against assault, though the plates will not survive under prolonged attack.
He'Draxi blades:
All He'Draxi carry bladed weapons on their person at all times. These weapons vary significantly in design, size and weight and all have personalized hilts to represent important moments or iconic perceptions of the person who wields them. Most He'Draxi carry various sized knives while others carry long or short bladed swords depending on skill and taste. Each and every one of these blades is personally crafted by the individual He'Draxi, all of whom are trained from childhood to create their own weapons and clothing. He'Draxi often kill marauding packs of Viddea if they threaten their hunting grounds and these beasts are used for all variety of purposes, like any other creature the He'Draxi kill. The claws of the dead beasts are harvested and stored in the tribal community. When a He'Draxi needs to make a blade they collect enough claws for their purpose and use the Fires of Mars to forge the claws into new blades. Because of the nature of the material used, each blade is capable of slicing through Carbonadium.
