• LnP is a problem, true but that limits him to submission (streoid chael cannot TKO his ass)
• Emotional laps? lets seee now.... Nick calling him out as a mother****er and GSP getting all fired out (personally asked dana to have match and visually pissed when condit beat him)
• Garbage defense (which will obviously be trained in the months prior to the fight mind you)
• Still textbook, with more speed

LOL I just saw this now. I don't think aggression will be much of a case because GSP is just miles ahead of Sonnen as far as their grappling is concerned. Jones is just out of the question. He's bigger, his striking is insanely effective and unorthodox, and his wrestling is unlike anything Silva has ever dealt with. But we'll see what happens when Silva and Jones stop ducking each other ;)

@Impero: To be honest I am more concerned with Rory (something ain't right with that kid) vs GSP , either jones will go for takedown then rain elbows or use reach then grapple or he get's ko'd (jones is very technical, not many people got a good hit off him). GSP is miles ahead, but his style changes every now and then with gameplan, currently he is on decisionator mode.

Wrestling wise it is not different (but it may look so because of the blend of BJJ and other styles in his grappling), IMO the big reason why jones pwned machida at the time was that Jones had crazy reach advantage.

So far there are three 'fresh' people with good chance to beat jones

1. Alexander Gustaffson (nulls reach advantage, kid needs time)
2. Glover Texeira (beast, ducked by shogun and rampage for a reason[poor maldonado])
3. Phis Davis (say what you want about rashad but this kid has potential)

IMO plenty of people are discounting Bisping

Thats the fun part about battles, trying to strategies your next move while trying to survive the current onslaught of attacks! xD I've missed battles so much <3

Aggression < Skill. I already gave you the statistics. GSP's grappling is the apex.

Is this just saying styles make fights? If so I already said the same thing a page ago. You pointing out that Silva has a striking advantage is like me pointing out water is wet lol

Having emotions, and "emotional laps" completely separate issues. Having emotions are common occurrences (he's human lmao). An emotional laps would allow his emotions to undo a gameplan, make a stupid mistake, lose because his emotions overran his tactics. Dan Hardy trashed GSP just as hard if not more so, how'd that work out for him? I can think of one time in which GSP openly admitted his emotions played a major role in a loss and that was his first fight against Matt Hughes. He said he was star struck and overly nervous/unsure of himself. And we already know what happened after that ;) GSP being called a MF is nothing new. Being disappointed cause he wanted to fight an opponent and that opponent lost pre-fight, nothing new. Asking Dana to make a fight is something all fighters do. Chael asked Dana to fight Jon Jones, by your logic Chael is having an emotional laps.

Whats obvious is that Silva has garbage defense lol its also obvious that he trains in takedown defense leading up to any fight with takedown specialists. He still gets put on the ground.

hahaha come on man, no one said Silva has never defended a takedown. And blocking the occasional takedown is not tantamount to vast improvement nor is it evidence that his takedown defense isnt garbage. I'm not even really sure what there is to debate on that matter. Its a given fact. Silva = sh!tty takedown defense.
