Would you rather deal with people from the far left or the far right?

Far-left. I can't stand either extremes on both sides, but at the very least I have not been told to "go back to where I came from" from anyone on the left.

Always better to be far right than far wrong.

While extremes can be found in both, far right people are easier to deal with. If I told a far right person that I voted for Hillary they would look at me and say "Why for God's sake would you do that?". If I told a far left person that I voted for Trump they would verbally assault me, refuse to ever speak to me again, block me from their facebook, boycott my business and key my car (a justified act in their mind).

The tea party shouted their slogans at their rallies and then cleaned up after themselves. Occupy Wallstreet shouted slogans, then defecated on the sidewalks in DC. I'd much rather have a tea partier over for dinner than an Occupy Walstreeter.

What does dealing with even mean? There's a lot more to people and their personalities than their political beliefs. People are too quick to try and use political beliefs to define who and what people are imo. Its gotten much worse in the last 5-10 years. I hope we can start growing out of that as a society pretty soon. I have family who are far to the left and family who are pretty far to the right politically and they still get along perfectly fine.

Depends on what kind of person they are. Is the far-right person an enthusiastic patriot, or a mindless member of the alt-right? And is the far-left person a well-intentioned socialist, or an irrational Tumblrite? I hesitantly voted far-right on this poll, as I'm conservative and would probably find a greater deal of common ground with them.

@cattlebattle: For a second I was afraid you were talking about me....but yeah, as I was writing this it became clear what kind of people I would rather be hang with. "Did you just assume their gender? Nope" Gets infuriating even when its a joke, told multiple times.

The main reason I choose the alt right, is because they represent some traditional values of America. Same reason why when I was watching a Hulk Hogan movie I felt a sense of pride when the kids were standing up and saying the pledge of allegiance. At least at their core (gotta go deep down for that), they wish for simpler America, one where a girl who wears jeans and punches people is called a tomboy instead of something else.

To deal with people from the far left I'd just sick Milo Yiannopolous on them and call it a day. Or kick them back to their safe spaces.

Both suck, but at least with the far right I can talk about basic, everyday things without them getting offended for no reason, like if you start talking about movies to the far left they'll end up ranting about "diverse casting" and "whitewashing" and "disproportionate number of men to women." Again, I hate the extremes on both sides, but at least the far right are not cry babies.

Am I saying everyone on the left is a crybaby? No, but the extremes certainly are.

Both sides are stupid in this case. There are times were we need to hold to our beliefs and there are times when we need to compromise, but neither side is willing to do the latter anymore. Instead they just keep becoming greater and greater extreme inverses of each other only it gets to the point where it doesn't matter which side you're on, you're guaranteed to be wrong at least 50% of the time.

I'd rather deal with people who don't think I should go back to my country of origin and wouldnt castrate me before they let their daughters alone with me for more than 20 seconds. I can take being annoyed but I'd rather not fear for my life.

The Far right are held accountable for there actions and then some, for all there talk of hating racism the far left loves hearing about it.The far left are not held accountable for there actions.The left never mind the far left are far more likely to go after you openly and personally.

We talk about politically correctness without really knowing what it can really mean. It doesn't just mean you've offended someone. It can mean you've done something (legal) that can hurt your societal standing.

Look at these people who where destroyed by the left. No one really condemns it, if anything many of these attacks are widely supported and these are just what we here about.

The left will mobilize to take down small businesses, they seem to have a zealotry far beyond the right.

I haven't heard of this but even if that's true, it doesn't mean that the left defends them. I actually have seen some conservatives defend Milo not all of course.

That is something I myself would not feel comfortable delving into. I was made aware that Salon removed it's pro-pedophile articles just prior to condemning Milo.

I rather deal with the far right because you can fight them easier. The far left on the other hand have conned many into believing they're not bad and can really hurt you by making you seem like the bad one. In the past it was reversed but times have changed and the dynamic has changed.

Agreed, I was just surprised by that claim since I'd never heard of it before, and a cursory google search didn't turn up anything. (I don't really know enough about the Milo scandal to discuss it or whether Salon had articles like that.)

It was also not true. They edited out the part where Milo said the age of consent is right as to where you draw the line.

He's has always said that pedos are vile monsters. I suggest doing your own research before believing people who have shown bias, grudges and a history of using fake news.

Hell don't even take my word for it seeing as I've mostly watched the edited out part and only read about the edited video second hand. DO the research for yourself and form your own opinion.

From what I heard second hand I wouldn't agree with what he said but it doesn't make him a pedo considering what he said in the edited out part.

I think the problem people mostly have is with him is that he said:

1) that even if 18yo is the right age of consent that there are children younger than that are able to give consent because they're mature enough.

2) Sexual attraction to children as young as 13 is not pedophilia as long as they've gone through puberty.

3) Relationships between older men and young boys can be beneficial for the underage boys.

You should watch and read his responses when he clarifies them later on. Like when he said when he was molested at age 13 he didn't feel like a victim but now that he's older he realizes he was and how it messed him up in his adult life.

Also realize the age of consent is younger than 18 in Europe. Even in America in some places. I'm just saying if you're going to trash the guy do it to how he meant it and where he's coming from.

I certainly wouldn't want my under 18 children to hook up with someone older as I see it as wrong even though that makes me a hypocrite considering there were more than a few older woman I wanted to hook up with at my early ages.

@dernman: Milo's from England where the age of consent is 16, still 3 years older than what he said was acceptable. His clarifications though don't really excuse his comments (he said by "boy" he meant consenting adults?), though and the fact that they only came after substantial blacklash could just be him just trying to do damage control. In any case, I only found out about this in the last hour but I can see why both conservatives and liberals are outraged and offended.

Edit: To the sentence you added, I'd just point out that Milo made these comments when he was 32.

I can't really defend or trash the first half seeing as I only heard about it second hand. I would need context. What I did hear is what was edited out of the video. The people he was talking to said there must be some some line that you draw, that you don't cross and he said he believes age of consent law.

You don't think that changes things?
