Ah, the M1918 BAR, one of the goods examples where the following models were worse then the original. Not sure I would say it is my weapon of choice, that is for sure.
Love the Chauchat. Fire once, spend the rest of the battle trying to unjam it.
I think I would pick the humble rifle though. Prefer an Lee Enfield although I wouldn't mind a Sprignfield. Can't go wrong with either.
The bar and bolt action rifle sound good. I bet using that shotgun in trenches must've been a sight to see. I would not want to be on the opposite end of that weapon in a trench. Just brutal.
