Why is Wu-tang Clan considered to be the best rap group in Hip-hop ?

out of all the other groups why are they considered the greatest ?

The sheer lyrical ability the group brings to the table is a large reason, tbh.

9 members (8 now RIP ODB), all of them have gone at least gold individually, and all them can actually rhyme. RZA is one of the greatest producers of all time. GZA, Ghostface, Raekwon, and Method man are all top 50 MCs DOA.

And collectively (individual albums included) they've probably gone double diamond.

N.W.A is better.

They started from the bottom litreally rises to the top, Also heard from a friend they have 300+ members in it. Almost all of them had made classic songs espically Method Man

@staticdwanyemcduffie: I mean there's a lot of groups affiliated with them. Grave Diggaz, Macabeez, ect. So the 300+ sounds about right. But the core group were 9, 10 if you count Killah Priest.

Not only were they composed of some of the most talented artists we've ever seen, they knew how to market themselves better than any other group to solidify their name as a legend in the game.

Wu-Tang Clan are miles ahead than N.W.A. Dr. Dre and Eazy-E didn't create their own lyrics as they were written by Ice Cube and MC Ren. RZA was always a better producer than Dre.

Everybody knows Beastie Boys is the greatest hip-hop group of all time.

@normanbates: Comparing their discographies, Wu-Tang Clan have N.W.A easily beaten. Enter the 36 Chambers>Straight Outta Compton, Wu-Tang Forever>Niggaz4Life, and etc. Not to mention each member or most of Wu-Tang had reach at least gold.

When did U-God or Masta Killa go Gold on a Solo Album ? Heck I don't even think Inspectah Deck went Gold.

@king_saturn: Masta Killa's No Said Date has probably gone gold by now. U-God and Deck has probably gone gold with their solo discography. Not sure if any of their album's gone gold individually though.

Personally i thought EPMD and A Tribe Called Quest were better, though Wu Tang is a classic rap group and Method Man is easily one of my top 20 MCs of all time

@thepreface: RZA one of the greatest producers of all time? Are you serious? He had a few good beats don't get me wrong but the majority of his beats were trash. I could easily name 10 producers who put RZA to shame

By who? I never heard such a thing. They are cool, definitely one of the better groups to exhibit that quintessential "east coast" sound...but best all-around? No way.

That being said, you can't f*c& with ODB.
