Why do men like fat asses?

I understand boobs, it gives off a sense of "motherhood" and feminity. But asses? Why do we like them? They are just cushions? Why do like them?

It's evolutionary, and with the boob thing it's thought that the reason men are attracted to the lungs of fun is only if the ass is out of sight.

It's designed by evolution to be arousing. There's a reason female monkey's or ape's ass gets big when she's ready to mate.

I don't like fat asses.

I like nicely toned asses though. Gives me a sense that the woman is active and doesn't laze around.

There's a difference between a big ass and a fat ass.

In any case, the attraction is all to do with it being a visual clue as to the female's child bearing potential.

That's because the boobs are only a backup for when the ass couldn't be seen and therefore the ass is higher up on the scale of importance when it comes to finding a mate.

The important part is broad hips. A "fat ass" usually naturally goes along with the broad hips trait and thus a correlative evolution happened. When mankind started standing upright looking at the ass could be dangerous and it really wasn't "easy" to show off from the standing position. Because of this it is speculated that breasts began to become a much more dominant secondary sexual characteristic, taking on a more ass-like shape, and I would say that this can be seen today as breasts aren't considered sexual everyone on Earth, but as western culture has spread and the liking of big breasts has come to dominate we are seeing that average breast size has steadily increasing...

The reason a nice ass is liked by women in men is because it indicates sexual prowess as well as survival prowess. Someone who can run and hump well is likely going to have a nice ass.

Men have been conditioned by thousands of years of evolutionary development to seek women whom they think will produce the strongest, healthiest offspring. Anthropologists have determined that men are subconsciously attracted to women whose waist is two thirds of the size of their hips.

This waist to hips ratio is supposed to indicate the woman is in good health and can successfully breed. This doesn't necessarily mean all men like "fat asses" (many don't) but it does help explain why men are generally attracted to shapely women.
